Great book. I like american history and criminal history. i'm white. so for me the BPP is a black gang.Forbes book takes a reader on a trip into the world of the black militant gang of the 1960s&1970s. insider stuff that is not common knowledge to most people in the 21st century. I appreciate a book like that.

I'm white too. Did you really read this man's book? The Black Panther Party was anything but a "gang" in the sense that you mean it. The BPP was a revolutionary organization. They were inspired by Karl Marx and offered a class analysis of the world situation. They stated frequently in public "All power to black people; all power to red people; all power to yellow people; all power to poor white people . . ." etc.

You, Perkins, Big Bob "Deacon", Larry Henson were the enforcers. Isn't this true? Six people were murdered. Tell us about that.

I wondered who was dealing with all those new houses being built in the bronx, and other parts of NY. The Black Panther does exist. Not just a comic book story.
