  • nice shooting!

im not sure, but isnt the "el presidente" drill two shots to the body and one into the head?

  • @PolenarTactical Thanks. You've got them mixed up though. A "Mozambique" or "Failure (to stop)" drill is two shots to the body and one to the head.

  • @ViEtRiCeR

my bad, i mixed them up :D

  • bust em. shoots first guy, gets 1 bullet in second guy, gets blasted by third guy

  • @tactikoolaid "Tactical" instructors often erroneously use the term 'speed reload' in place of 'emergency reload'.

Read the glossary of the IDPA Rule Book for reload definitions.

  • @ViEtRiCeR Well reason for that being in "tactical" shooting the speed reload you're talking about doesn't really exist. You shoot till the gun is empty or the threat goes down.

  • @Herisk depends on terrain, I have plenty of time when supresssing 400 yds to save my mags mountain warfare, and in urban combat not like mexico or iraq like CIA assassain you gonna save those mags, no crime scene evidence. but IN SHTF SCENARIO IF I LOSE SOME I LOSE SOME. ESPECIALLY WHEN HOLDING A POSITION AND ATTACKED AT CLOSE RANGE.

  • unless im fighting for a conventional army that fields ak'z or in emergencia, im not gonna be dropping my mags i know that for sure,

  • @altalivan you always drop your mags when reloading, its not worth your life trying to load and put in your bag or pocket the empty one, just wait till after the fight and when you won go pick up your mags and the mags off the assholes that tried to kill you. if you lose a few, o well at least you will be alive man

  • @Herisk I think you have speed reload confused with emergency reload.

  • @ViEtRiCeR wait, whats the difference?

  • @ViEtRiCeR Speed reload generally refers to weapon running dry, as far as I've seen.

  • @John234pwns That's an emergency reload, which requires you to cycle the bolt. A speed reload is when you drop a partially loaded mag, leave a round in the chamber, and insert a fresh mag.

  • @ViEtRiCeR But the terms are nearly interchangable in most circles.... in terms of practical usage, there's only the tactical / retention load and speed / emergency load.

  • Well done!

  • @bushinsappony Thanks!

  • i heard the guy said .. ready.. Puto "" lol wtf.. are you mexican ?

  • Slow AF.

  • He can protect "El Presidente" now.

  • @imlatinoguy or... oh wait, i cant say that... :P

  • shit i treid it and faileed..... lol im a keep praticeing my time was close to yours but my shots are off... how many yards are u?

  • you kinda cheated no rack back on the reload i know bullet was still in chamber but in battle are you gonna be counting shots? lol

  • It's an El Presidente drill. It's only a demonstration of skill. It is highly unlikely that a speed reload will be used in combat.

  • what was that from the go command? about 7 seconds?

  • Yup, from the very first sound of the go command to the last shot.

I need more practice. But this was also before I had my mags bullets up.

  • i noticed you running them that way. i run ak mags bullets down and pointing back. with open top rigs i am worried about stuff getting in the mags.

  • I thought about that too, but for what I'm doing, it doesn't matter. I don't roll in a enough sand or dirt for it to be an issue. Speed is the determining factor here.

If I was in the sandbox, then I'd probably run them bullets down.

  • Very nice! Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!

  • if you need to speed reload, emphasis is on speed. I have trained with Tactical Response in TN and I can say that they don't retain the mag during the 'tactical reload'. All of their reloads are the same, smack the mag out and then run the charging handle. If you're still alive after the fight, you can go pick up the partials you dropped. When you're this close, and you have to shoot more people with a rifle, it pays to have the rifle down for as short a time as possible. In other words.Good job

  • @markdl000 AND IF YOU NEED MORE THAN TWO MAGS YOU MIGHT BE SCREWED SO JUST HAVEW LIKE EXTRAS THATS WHAT I HAVE INM MY PACK IN PINAL. LIKE 10 AT A TIME AND EXTRA ROUNDS.

  • Ha that sounded like Chris Costa off camera. "BUST EM"

  • Actually, it was Travis. ;)

  • Nicely done, weapon stayed high during speed reload. looks good. the "speed" reload has a very limited niche in tactical shooting but has become accepted and almost requried for IDPA / IPSC. Train like you fight, because you WILL fight like you train. Nice Video. keep up the good work and be safe!

  • Thanks. I understand the limitations of the speed reload and this is only a drill. The majority of my shooting experience has been limited to shooting games such as IPSC and IDPA.

I guess I need to figure out whether I want to keep "playing" or start "fighting."

  • Looks like fun...I might have to try that on my next trip to the range.

  • Nice El Pres. With a smooth reload..

In competition dropping a partially loaded mag is SOP. But that needs to stay at the Matches.

Don't make habit of ditching Mags with bullets in em. I'll stow a partial in my back pocket during a Tac-Reload. Empty mags belong on the ground though.

  • Yeah, this was just a drill. It's hard to look cool when you're trying to stuff a partially loaded mag into your back pocket. ;)

I have nearly zero experience with tactical shooting. Most of it is bullseye and bench shooting, and I've just recently started shooting USPSA/IDPA matches (about a year ago).
