  • does this one allows the differnet monitor mixes on the outputs??

  • can anyone help me with pro tools 9? i cant seem to figure out how to set the metronome on and its weird using the one on my keyboard because of the timing i hit record . so idk how to get around this problem so help please lol

  • When you use the Octopre into the pro 24 via optical cable. Do you then get all ten (otcopre and pro 24 together) mics going into your DAW (pro tools) as 10 seperate tracks?

  • Would this Interface be compatible with Pro Tools, and would I be able to record 24 tracks simultaneously?

  • Who is the guy with the ultra perm

  • Questions:

    1. Can you record differnet intruments or vocals separatly and mix them togther

    2. how can you play instruments AND have the PRO 24 hooked up to you lap top and still hear what your playing from speakers elsewhere?

    3. Can you play previously recorded pieces and hear then while recording new parts?

    please respond!

  • this audio was recorded separately in a studio..........sound is too clean...no bleed or room sound

  • how come that vocal mike aint picking up the pick sound of the guitar....or ANY room sound for that matter.....hmmmmmm.......

  • @zealberg what makes you say it isn't?

  • Maybe someone knows if Headphones output cuts off main master level if the headphones are pluged in? In other words if I record vocalist am I going to be able to still hear everything on my monitors?

  • @DEAFTON3

the headphone outputs have independent volume controls. The monitors will still be active even if you plug in headphones.

    Nick

  • @nicktheharpblower Cheers mate

  • How you got the vocals to sound so great. Can u give some tips or some settings please?

  • @tehillahband buy a good mic and a good preamp.

  • Is the music I hear a representation of the KRK's or was the sound mixed in to the vid later? just curious as I want to buy the rp6's soon and don't have the means to hear them live :(

  • I guess that it comes down to..

Why are you wearing sunglasses inside?

  • Any advice for a beginning audio engineer would be appreciated. I am not sure what to invest in as an upgrade to my m-audio fast track haha. So, I'm curious the difference between this unit and the newer Scarlett 2i2. I could buy the pro24 including an MLX v63m microphone, monitor speakers, boom stand and cables for $400 or the 2i2 for $150 and then add in a microphone (don't need the monitors). So basically besides the amount of inputs, what's the main draw to getting this unit.

  • @YourFurthestReaches The focusrite saffire pro 24 has 16 inputs/ 8 outputs and is a connected via firewire. The focusrite scarlet 2i2 only has 2 inputs/ 2 outputs and is connected via usb. It is your preference whether you want less or more and usb or firewire. I am a proud owner of a focusrite saffire pro 24. It has been one of the best investments for my home studio. couldnt be happier.

  • @YourFurthestReaches epic focusrite preamps

  • 2:42 Playback,no power on the keyboard :)

  • I thought this band would suck till I heard the singers voice. Lots of sould its great!

  • Can you say product placement?

  • I can hook up my presonus channel strip to the Focusrite Saffire rite?

  • @TheNaziKiller1 sure

  • i have the blue bluebird. so do yu recomend this interface for it? and is this better than the avid mbox mini 3 to preamp the blue bird? please help.. i wana know whats better so i can decide on wich one to buy-

  • @MCSKEPTICAL559 They are both good interfaces but one is usb and one is firewire. So which one do u need? They both have great preamps the mbox's used to be very mediocre but the new avid series are completly different and are very nice. Look at all the features each have and figure which one will be best for you that is what really matters. Plus the mbox lets u monitor with reverb and stuff and they have a hardware limiter on the pres.

  • My plugins are installed but don't show in my DAW. I've reinstalled the software a couple of time and still the same results. Do you have any advice?

  • @utoob3r It would probably be best to make contact with us using the contact form on our answerbase and we will be able to run through some troubleshooting steps to check that the plug-ins have installed correctly and work out why they're not appearing in your DAW.

  • @utoob3r You've probably not set the VST Plugin path right, in the DAW's preferences. I highly doubt that this problem is related to the audio interface :P

  • @utoob3r

what is your daw? sometimes you need to rescan your vst folder like for example Fl Studio.

  • Good stuff!

  • I have that same bluebird mic but how come my mic doesnt sound that good?

  • I saw 4 gain inputs were very low in the specturm display... about -16db each...is it the right way to set them?

I usually set every input gain at -6/-3 db

Would you please explain to me?

  • @Jackpiazza Recording at 24-bit resolution and peaking at -18dB is the equivalent of a 21-bit recording. This means that the noise floor as a result of the conversion is still significantly lower than can be noticed. Adding a little more noise to a signal is unlikely to ruin it, whereas clipping the signal may do. Setting the signal to peak at -6dB is still fine, however.

  • good song by the way...

  • Just wondering - how exactly was the keyboard player monitoring what he was playing?

  • @robertholsman If you take a look at 1:00 you can just about see the keyboard's monitor behind him. Good spot!

  • @FocusriteTV I didn't spot that! I'm not familiar with the blue mics, so I was wondering how well it dealt with bleed of the amps and the monitors? Great recording by the way - a nice testimony to the preamps on the saffire.

  • @robertholsman A good question! The level of the players in the room

was pretty low, so there wasn't a great deal of sound in the room to

begin with; that's the most important thing. Also, the mic was

positioned to minimise what spill there was coming from the other

instruments and from room reflections. Finally, the space was very

large (it's a city-centre bar) with lots of furnishings and varying

ceiling heights. That helped lots too.

  • Next time my ProFire 610 starts sassing me, I'm getting a Saffire 24. Fortunately, for now, the ProFire has been on it's best behaviour.

  • nice as always

  • Nice to see an XP-80 being put to great use today. Got myself the Midnight Plug-in as well & very pleased with it.

  • @Westsound191 XP 80 indeed
