This sux, I need to check the firing pin. How do we do that? Have shot the short 38's and how did they work? They look dwarfed inside the clip or magazine.
vendo una pistola star 9 corto super s, es casi igual que esta, el desmonte se hace de otra manera que es muy parecida. si alguno estais interesado en ella, mi email es gaesca77@hotmail.com (españa)
exellent video! how is the pivoting trigger vs a 1911 is it an advantage or preference, if you have compared them? i just found out about star brand thanks for the video
Thanks for videos ,i have star BKS 9mm with broken firing pin,can you please tell me how to get firing pin out so i can make one or buy one .i think firing pin held by retaining pin under rear site and do not have back plate. have very nice holidays
Great vid!! BUT i did see in a few chat windows on this particular gun that some type of mod will be needed to chamber the 38's.. what is your feedback on this?
DEPENDS ENTIRELY ON THE GUN, AS THE GUN AGES AND BEGINS TO SHOOT LOOSE IT WILL ACCEPT THE 38 RIM WITHOUT A PROBLEM, IN FACT I KNOW OF A PROFESSIONAL BALISTICIAN WHO SHOOTS NOTHING BUT .38 SUPER IN HIS MODELO SUPER. THERE ARE NO NEW MODELO SUPER PISTOLS, THESE GUNS HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS AND MOST IF NOT ALL WILL NOW FIRE THE .38 AUTO AND SUPER AUTO, WHICH IS ACTUALLY LOADED TO LOWER BALLISTICS THAN THE ORIGINAL LARGO CARTRIDGE
I really appreciate you making this video.. I just bought this pistol for a great price and didnt have a clue on how to dissasemble. and of course since it is so rare, i couldnt find a manual online!
@Claretcross there is a manual on line, just type star super model at googles and open it pdf manual available i have one unit mark R on manufacture year. i have disassembled and reassembled it after cleaning and lubrications.

I remeber those from back in 1988, Interarms imported a bunch of them and I almost bought one...they may have been 9mm para though, its been a long time I dont remember. I ended up buying a Llama .45..both the Llamas and the Stars were always underrated..Spain made some good guns back in the day, people forget that.
I got a star arms sa calibur 9mm p. It's got the longer looking magazine and when I bought the ammunition the bullets are not as long as the magazine, if I use them, will it fire?
I have been shooting .38 Super Comp in mine, I was having issues with the starndard .38 Super sticking. I do not shoot the 9x23 Win only because I can not find any and the cost is out of this world
I have three 9mms and this classic is by far my favorite.I pick it up passing through a flea market in MN. its a very nice gun but i find it kind of hard to find the largo 9mm ammo.
Any idea if the sights, hammer, or barrel bushing is interchangeable with a 1911? How many times has the hammer pinched you?:P, the absence of a longer beaver tail i hear is problematic. Thank you much for the video! Now let's see one of you blowing away some watermelons, to please the gunney. Thanks!
Finally! A youtube video on it:). Did you get it recently from sarco? What year is it based on the proof marks? I want to be the 1st to warn you that you're going to get awesome flak over saying it'll take 38super or 9x23win. (My smith said he had put 1000+ rounds of 38super through his astra 400 all his life. Also, we put 9x23w through the astra 400 all day. The blowback is different in a 400 than a super but still.)
Nevermind I got it.lol

how do you tell the differance between a model A and a model B????
klausewalther 1 year ago
@klausewalther The Super A is in 9 Largo and Super B is in Parabellum. Only the barrel changes.

@ghangiskuhn DO NOT shoot the 9x23 Winchester. The pressure is much greater than largo or .38 super. You would risk serious injury.

I like the Modelo Super. It has all the good features of the 1911 with some badly needed updates. I wish someone would start making them again.
