  • The Forest Service provides some really nice drives. You just have to know how to spot the brown signs going down the highway. I agree with the ghostrider. I'd wander out there till I died, or ran out of fuel and had to get a job.

  • @iamcool14ever Hey, thanks for watching, that song is "Hymn" by Remy De La Moya. I got it off Garage Band many years ago.

  • Gal,if i lived out there, I'd be with you every day, doing just what your doing. I really enjoy your trips, off roading in God's country.

  • Colorado is nice but New Mexico's County San Juan in NE, NM is more amazing. It has more off roading highways and byways. Try it out! Go to Farmington, NM and get a travel packet for the NE part of the state trust me. Compare it to Colorado.

  • Need to know the song used at the end. Female Vocals and mellow?

  • TY for the great videos! have you driven the road from Heart lake through Carson (bachelor cabins), i am thinking of coming into LC over Carson Pass....

  • Thanks so much for all the videos you post. I am a Ouray wannabee from Illinois and go every summer for my annual "dose". Your videos help "take me there" from time to time and again, my thanks!

  • I live 6 hours from Ouray and I consider myself a wannabe too! LOL. I haven't been since autumn of 2007 and I'm itching to get there this summer! I will post some more videos and I'm working on a web site as well, so stay tuned!

  • Dear JeepsterGal, I am filming an adaptation of my version of Stephen King's "The Shining." I will be entering it on YouTube. Some scenes in your footage are exactly what I was looking for for a specific scene. May I use some of the shots?

  • Hi and thanks for writing! What scenes specifically would you like permission to use?

  • Also, I chose your footage to comment on because of its spectacular beauty and cinematography, as well as it having the right feel and mood of what I am going for. I am still waiting for permission on the soundtrack to use over the footage which is 2008's "The Shining" by Richard Gale, with added interjections of Native American chanting. Whereas the novel takes place in Larimer County, Colorado, my adaptation is 40 miles west of Denver in Clear Creek County.

  • What format do you need the clips in? Not sure I still have the originals, as I usually delete for space once the video is up. Might have to re-capture...but let me know what size and format you want.

  • Albuquerque708 is correct in saying that New Mexico is amazing. But I'm not sure NM, or anywhere else in the U.S. could compare the Colorado in the area of scenic grandeur.

  • Very nice!

  • awesome video, I wish there where places like that around here

  • Hey its Arrow Ive watched a couple of your vids there great! Being a jeep owner and a lover of outdoors helps but youve captured some beautiful beautiful shots. Thanks for sharing and Im glad I met you.

  • Thanks for writing! It's really fun to explore places only a Jeep can take you :)

  • I live in Arkansas but I love Colorado. Your off-road videos are the closest thing to being there. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures and the beauty that one can enjoy only by taking the path less traveled. By the way, I have only one request....I wish you'd list the title and artist of the music...:).... I love your taste in music and dont recognize them all. I'd like to be able to buy the CD's. Keep the videos coming!

  • I usually have always listed it in the "More Info" link for the video description, but I've had so many of my videos stripped of their music because of copyright infringements I stopped adding the music info for fear it would bring more attention to the video and they'd strip the music...it's a bummer. Thanks, glad you enjoy the music...I think it really makes a video great, so it's disappointing to have the music stripped.

  • nothing like that in Connecticut Lucky you jeepsterGal

  • Thanks for another great film, I went to San Juan mountains last year and plan to go again. My Aunt lives in Como area so I have a place to stay.

  • Lucky you! I hope to go this summer and do some more filming of the trails!

  • You are AMAZING! Nice touch with you driving away. I didn't see you last autumn. Came in from Calif. end of Sept. again, but didn't do Engineer Pass this time. Wasn't as cold so the colors were less. I was very lucky to have experienced camping neighbors who took me over Black Bear Pass. When ya doing that one? I tell people all over to watch your 2 videos (Engineer Pass and Autumn Colors) to see the beautiful autumn colors & shots of my jeep! Keep up the good work! Dave from Calif.

  • DAVE! Great to hear from you! Camping neighbors that took you over Black Bear? I would love that! I'm not doing it myself; I want to go with someone first, so you had the best situation! I'm envious! I didn't go to the San Juans in 2008. I got a new puppy (Scooter passed in January) and he was such a handful there was no way he was ready to go on a trip and stay in a tent, etc. He would have destroyed all my gear! I will be there this summer, probably over July 4th. Keep watchin for more videos!

  • Once again, my hats off to you. This is a great video. Love the scenery. Reminds me of some of those great trails that I used to drive back in California. Living in Texas now, just not the same "take your breath away" down here as in Colorado. I got to spend a week at Rocky Mountain National Park this past Sept. Even as beautiful as it is there, I can't even imagine what the scenery looks like in the San Juan area. Can't wait to see what you will post next

  • Yes, I moved to Colorado from Texas so I know what you mean :) Thanks so much for watching! Estes Park is amazing, especially in autumn, but in my opinion, nothing rivals the San Juans, ESPECIALLY in autumn!

  • Thanks JeepsterGal. We never did get the chance to head to the southwest corner of the state this year. However we were busy doing plenty of 4 wheeling up at this end of the state and a trip to Moab as well. In fact just back from Moab (2nd trip) over the New Year. Maybe this year will be the our year to come explore your area! Thanks again!!

  • Yeah I didn't get to the San Juans this year at all and didn't do ANY 4 wheeling at all this summer due to buying a house and spending the summer landscaping...can't wait for summer to get here in 2009!

  • Nice Job Jeepster Gal! We were in the area 3rd week in August and did some basic 4 wheelin. But a Ford F150 limited where we could go. Plan on being back here Summer of 2009 for a month or more.

    Thanks

  • I didn't even know about this road! Now I'm backed up yet another trip to Ouray! I'll be in the area next July on my new touring motorcycle. (Sorry, I somehow got side tracked from the necessary Jeeping at hand.) Road bikes don't like being off pavement, however.

  • Yeah, I stumbled across it while doing every side road off of Hwy 550 between Ouray and Silverton one summer. It is SO worth it. Amazing scenery!

  • Again, thanks for sharing. The only way I am going to be able to do these roads is through you. Beautiful country. God's country.

  • Your videos never get old. I just changed my summer vacation plans, I'm coming back to colorado on an ATV trip this time since I've been Jeepless for awhile.

  • Have enjoyed all of your videos. Brings back memories of the summer I spent in Durango.

  • Thanks for coming back to watch my vids. I love Durango! So much to do there and what a cool downtown area...

  • You would of course receive full recognition for the footage, and under your supervision or suggestion I could use or disuse incriments as you so wish.

  • consideration! Let me know whatever I can do to repay you.

  • Spectacular scenery. Thanks for the ride.

  • Thank you for watching!

  • The shots on the Last Dollar Roadwere the wide bending shot as you turn toward the foothills early in the video, and also views from the front window of the scenery in the middle of the video. On the U.S. Basin Forest Road they are the huge and slow expansing shots of the San Juan Mountain Range, the shot of the one vehicle on the far distant valley lone road, the view of the jeep climbing the mountain, and views along the drive. (cntnd.)

  • The San Juans I always thought were perfect for this. For the intro I wanted lofty views of the isolated mountains with no road, absolutely nothing but moving expansive views of the San Juans. For the scene "Closing Day" I wanted images of either a vehicle snaking through the dirt mountain road, or views of the road from the vehicle just as you took. In either case the road would be empty except for the one. For that scene either or would be fine as would a mix. Thank you so much for your ...
