it did clean the surface but it did have any affetct on the yellow . I think that this is a bust. Unless this dood can tell me what i did wrong. I read other comments and it does make sense that this process is just steam cleaning your sole. The evaporation does not carry the salt onto the shoes so in reality it is just steam hitting the shoe. The salt is left in the water and the pot . I wanna let every other dood out here know that this probably aint really worth it .

I did this today and it did not work at all ... I did it on a pair of 2010 space jams and it didnt help . ANY ANSWERS. I went to home depot in oakland bought snow salt that came in a 50 lb bag for like 8 bucks. I boiled the water and dropped a half a cup of salt and place the shoe on the pot on two paint stirring sticks. I then tried it four more times each time adding more salt and it did not work. It does not melt the glue that holds the outsole to the midsole tho. It did clean the surface but

the reason icy soles yellow is because of water and humidity.....this is a temporary fix that will speed up yellowing process. oh yea, it doesn't matter what u put in boiling water, when it boils ONLY the water evaporates, not the salt. "its science"
