In Disney's Believe, how does Mama Odie count as a magic maker? Yes, she's the "fairy godmother" character of Princess and the Frog, but the only time she used her magic was for zapping the shadow creatures and telling Naveen and Tiana how to break the spell the hard way. But she didn't grant any wishes or make any dreams come true! The big message behind her song was "I could give you what you want, but I won't."! And why is RAFIKI in the show? He has NO magic whatsoever!
@Dragonrider1227 I know. They've got magic coming out of every nook and cranny of the parks and resorts (except Saratoga Springs; pool is cool, but I don't want to leave upstate New York just to vacation in a hotel themed around upstate New York), and you can always tell from the first few sketches/pictures of a new movie what has the Touch of Walt and what should've been thrown in the trash! But what exactly did Eisner DO while he was at Disney? I thought he purchased the Muppets . . .
@ztslovebird Well, Eisner screwed up big his last few years but at first he was great. He saved the company from being bought out and the imagineers getting fired. MGM/Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom were his ideas and I think the value resorts were his idea too
dos eany one know if what will celebrate is over!?:( well becuse i am not sure becuse they changed the flower bed from mivey ballons mickey in a party hat to gust mickey? and now its let the memrries begen but celebrate is stilll going on
I didn't know they had fireworks... That's awesome.
OMG GENIE. YAAAAY!!! So... is anyone thinking it would be the same people who play Genie right now over at DCA? Apparently that show is stopping soon.
YAY!!! I was scared when I heard a rumor that Golden Mickeys was being discontinued, but it sounds like they've made it bigger and better!! Which brings up an interesting (and sad) question; who did they find to . . . "replace" Roy E. Disney for introducing the show?
Ok,1 thing I would have to ask here...why is Disney the most EXSPENSIVE cruise line. How can they want to attract the younger people, then charge an arm and a leg to cruise here. The avg parent who has kids, probably couldn't even afford to go this route, even if they were looking at a cruise. A 6 nig cruise for 4 is about $5000,while that same cruise on Carnival is about $2K LESS.
@Wayneman117 Well, for starters, building a new cruise boat isn't cheap. Especially if it's as advanced as all the ads and behind-the-scenes stuff says it is (sure do hope we don't have another Titanic on our hands). And second, it's a sneaky way to get people to become Disney Vacation Club members. It's actually a great program; discounts on vacations, special offers for rooms/day passes, and a seasonal magazine with insider tips and info!
@Wayneman117 It may cost more but as the ads show, you most definitely GET more. Carnival may be cheaper but you don't get fireworks, state of the art stage shows, or a Pirate themed party. And the price can't be that much of a problem if even before the Disney Dream was even completed, they were still sold out
@Wayneman117 but are Carnival's stage shows to the same level of quality and detail as Disney's? If you don't want to spend that kind of money for a cruise that's alright, but while Disney is expensive they make it worth the money
Also: Disney character meet and greets, a more detailed kids' center, free sodas, larger staterooms, virtual portholes in inside staterooms, lots of special effects and unique decor in the lobby and restaurants, fireworks and a party :) The experiences are totally different. If you want to cruise, there are lots of options for you and Disney isn't the best for everyone, but IMO if you enjoy the level of detail and theming Disney is known for, it is worth it.
For those of you that have ridden before, for pirate night am I supposed to wear like a full pirate costume or just an eye patch and a hat? thanks (:

I especially liked the fireworks at sea idea.
Imagine hearing the waves crashing whilst fireworks exploded above you.

No TPTF show/solo performance? I'm kind of dissapointed that only Mama Odie will be making an appearance. Or did I miss something?
