Matthews does such a great job. Amazing how rediculous the arguments from the new-cons are. Clinton lies about a personal afair and they go crazy but when one of their own does it they believe he should be pardoned because he didn't really commit a crime. So unbelievably hipocritical.

Basically his defense was some people who said he was REALLY busy with important matters, and a few reporters who said Libby didn't leak to THEM.

It seems obvious Libby decided to take a bullet to protect the administration. So don't come whining afterward.

Matthews' comeback is great after O'Beirne says Libby should be pardoned because he says he isn't guilty: "There are a million prisoners who all say they're not guilty. Should they receive pardons, too?"

But there's even more. If Libby isn't guilty, WHY DIDN'T HE PUT ON A DEFENSE? He didn't try the memory defense, he didn't call Cheney, his lawyers never followed up on the "he was sacrificed to protect Karl Rove" claim.
