@TheTurtleVillage very true. when i first heard king i was like "what the fuck is this?" but then the music i thought was totally kick ass and king's voice grew on me. now i enjoy it very much.
@maziku Yeah I know, when I bro first introduced me to "A mansion in Darkness" and "The Invisible Guests" I loved them both, afterwards I listened to "The Family Ghost" and "Welcome Home" which I hated, the vocals just sounded much weirder to me on these tracks. But since I loved the other 2 songs I became determined to become a fan of King. So I listened to the entire Abigail album in one sitting from start to finish and I fell in love. This is why people shouldn't be so close minded.
@TheTurtleVillage i think abigail is one of the greatest metal albums of all time. the arrangements, solos, riffs, mikkey dee's drumming, production, its all extremely polished without sounding artificial.
@maziku Agreed, it really is a masterpiece. But lately I've really been listening to "THEM" and think I like it even more now. "THEM" just really gives me a major sense of horror that none of the other albums seem to give me as much.
Epic song, best song on Time (though that's always debatable, that album is epic)
Ever notice how many people come to youtube to dislike a metal song, but we metalheads (at least I don't anyway) don't go over there rocking Beiber's boat, mainly because I can't stand his music and don't want to hear it while I'm aiming at the DL button but still, just saying if you KNOW you don't like something, why search for it?
This has to be one of the most masterful albums of all time in my opinion. One of my fav songs on the album. The King has been an influence to so many metal artists, and even allowed metallica to record Ride the Lightning in his studio. He is a true legend.
Master musical metal story teller.... and yes HE is THE RAREST of vocalists.... Many mainstream WELL KNOWN vocalist recognize this guys GENUINE ability...
King Diamond is a truly astounding singer. ASTOUNDING in range, tonality and technical skill.
It's almost a pity he went for the extreme rather than more mainstream heavy rock/metal, so that he could be exposed to a much wider audience-- but as it is he remains our little secret and is known and loved by all true metalheads.
why exactly could you laugh at all? Its not like its a funny opening or he sings retardedly, granted it is NOT normal by any strech but its better than people say
Yesssss one of the few least heard of gems in the M. Fate experience. Beautiful. This song should have been a bigger hit than it was.......She was here 2 take me far awayyyyyyyyyyyy....
Love this song, thanks to Dark Tranquillity. Both versions are awesome, this is the only King Diamonds song i know.

Dig the Uriah Heep influence (song title lifted). King has long cited Heep as an influence.

It's an awesome song, but is that King Diamond singing in super-high falsetto? Because that sounds terrible.
