you are very strong given you have social anxiety. my anxiety is growing and it makes me sad. but im comforted knowing there are ppl like you who fight it. thank you for your inspiration. ps.... what does a panic attack feel like. i feel like one is in the works ahhhh!
noone had any expirience,at some point,so dont you go crazy about it,its a normal thing,i liked your story,i feel very sry for your bro its kinda thing that will either kill u or rise you up,hope everything works out well for ya!
i guess its real fear got out of control inside, and i guess we have to look into wat haappend to cause it in a deep way, i think ive figured mine out.... fear of rejection, and primary school first day, i can mind screamin and cryin infront of the whole class and they lookin at me like im an alien.. made me feel real lonely and i always avoided all other children, only got on with adults cuz of it
i had this anxiety for basicly 19 years or so, all started wen i startd primary school... now this year iv had an amzing breafthru and i feel so much better its unreal, still ave bad days at times tho
Severe anxiety can last for an extremely long time, yeah. I was getting so anxious I'd feel sick thinking of my highschool prom when I was in 9th grade, 4 years in advance. Panic Attacks however only last a few minutes, 5-10 tops for me.
You are really cool. Intelligent, artistic and very genuine!
I've been on sertraline for a while now. It seems to have taken the edge off of me not being able to cope, but I'm still more or less exhausted and bummed out most of the time. Is depression something you deal with? Or is it mostly anxiety?
I do deal with depression. Having that internal flaw you did nothing to bring about, and can't really change is hard to grapple with. However at this point in my life since I'm really striving to do what I want and be who I want to be despite panic, it's alot more anxiety then depression.
Try exercising, maybe just jogging a bit or joining a gym. The physical activity will give you better endurance and more energy, and also lessen depression symptoms.
its depressing cuz this really does affect every part of your life. I also have social anxiety and i find it hard just doing the smallest things like finding a job, asking for help or meeting new people even just talking to them terrifies me. And the worse is that my family and friends dont even know about it, they just think im weird...so yea it really sucks
i almost cried listening to your story...very sad and i totally feel your pain with anxiety..i was lucky enough to make it up until my senior year in high school before i started having major panic attacks...being 25 now i thought i'd have been completely rid of it...how wrong i was. but i never stop looking for the answers. today was second day at my new job at a diner..heart pounding the whole time, painful muscle tension had to run into the bathroom a lot to hide...im so sick of hurting. =(
I'm glad you've got a job in these tough times. Hold onto it, if you want it. don't let anxiety make anymore choices for you. Hiding out in the bathroom is fine, it's okay to take a breather when you need one, but don't let yourself stay home, or leave due to panic. As long as you keep going, and staying, it will get easier. I promise.
A really bad ass actor, Tom Sizemore suffers. Which surprised the hell outta me because he's always playing some bad ass fearless soldier. But yeah, it's amazing.
It's been awhile since you posted this, but i just came across it while looking for SA related stuff. Thank you for sharing your story. I can sure relate to all the school stuff. High anxiety times for me.
A lot happened to you. You made school, that´s good. I hope you will find a job where your life changes. Do you have your own flat? Where are you in the video?
tHANKSfor ur courage for tallking about this. I never knew what it was that I had until my mid 20's that it was a social anxiety disorder that I'd suffered starting at age 12. When I was 12yo in 6th grade I would pretend that my folks didn't have any money for a science camp field trip because I wanted to avoid going with the rest of the 6th grade class. \ I My disorder gradually deminished starting at age 23 and forced myself to go through college and graduated.
im 18. your cute. but i have generalized anxiety disorder. ever since i was 6. its still a struggle. it always will be. but you gave me hope. thanks. <3
Im 37, ive had social anxiety for 20 years, it wasnt until I hit 30 that I found out what was wrong with me, I heard a programe on the radio abou SA and the person talking had all the symptoms that I sufferd from, from then on I decied to fight it as I knew it would not go away magicly by itself , I still suffer from it but I continuosly make new challenges to improve my self, all the best out there the key is to fight it and make your seklf the best you can be .
well atleast ur not alone, there are lots of us who feel the same way. I am from India and i am 26yrs old but strangely my attacks only started after 20! Hope to get through this crap. If you want to talk with someone u could always PM me.. take care.
dude, good going with college. i dreaded field trips at school for months, and i struggled with SA at university too, but it is worth it to keep going. people with SA struggle against so much, and if you can be skilled and eloquent in life it can only be better for all. i am glad i don't have to look back and regret not pursuing a career. your brother would be proud of you. cheers
