That debt, along with the massive entitlement programs that no one in the Tea Party has suggested slashing, has to be paid for.
In 2006, we threw the Republican Congress out because they were spending like Democrats. The economy recovered from 9/11 and was doing fine until 2006.
That debt has to be paid for, but instead of cutting other spending on other programs, since Obama took office another trillion has been spent, on top of the existing debt. Explain how spending even more money the country doesn't have pays the debt.
