@matt Yea bro it turned out awesome!I have a welder I can hook you up with/i just got your msg/if we ever did anything I could make it worth your time/i have a welder I don't need and you can weld aluminum w/it/i can get ahold of a few of the bikes/shi your working on/email me so we can talk/i think this can be more than worth your time wp_smith@yahoo.com keep up the good work:walter
Nice work Matt! I made one out of a CRF450R, search for " fatcat 450r " to check it out. I look forward to seeing your "Hulk" I need to build another one, I miss mine...
There is always the problem of adjustmenrt with the primary chain on the big wheel setup have you figured a beter method on this as the bigger motor would flog out chains and sprockets quickly .I am looking for a solution as I own a couiple of BWs
Matt/sorry my msg was 2 long/i had 2 chop it in half. I have a lot of street bikes with good complete engines that I part out such as a GSXR600 if you ever thought of going in that route! If we could make a big wheel out of my KLR/id have no problems hookin you up w/the yz250/the gsxr600 engine/w custom exhaust+all computers+wireing harnesses/same goes for any of my bikes! Regardles I'm sure we can help each other out/please email me@ wp_smith@yahoo.com thanks!
@wppd2001 hello - this bike turned out sweet didn't it?? - i'm working on kdx 200 bigwheel conversion right now - the yz i can do if it is steel framed - i'm not set up to weld aluminum thats why i stay with the older school bikes - the big four stroke is a little more difficult - the conversion it self is not cheap and the price would scare you - these aren't big money makers for me ...its more of a hobby
@motocrossmatthew, I was wondering if you would build me one if I supply the parts? I have a complete 93 yz250 frame etc. W/ all new plastic/graphics/seat-cover all in the plastic! I have a number of street bikes and a great running kawasaki klr600 we could play around with,I'm sure we could come up w/something awesome! I'd of course be willing 2 pay u/& if we could convert my KLR to a big-wheel/id give you my YZ250 to make another one.
I have a Yamaha TW200, I've always enjoyed the looks of the big wheel off road bikes like Fat Cat and Big Wheel. Now if you could figure out some kind of workable engine swap on the TW200, you would be a god among men.....
@hardcorn - thank you - this one turn out real nice -it was my second attempt - it has been sold - it was very heavy feeling when riding...so i'm building one on a kdx200 right now - this video was my first youtube experience and i will step it up a notch with more detail and action on my next one - so keep an eye out for the kdx...i'm calling it "the Hulk" - matt
I've got a bw200 rolling chassis and an xs650 streetbike and I wanna do this same conversion. How did you adapt the front forks to make them longer? Please post some video of it running or being ridden, it looks awesome!
is there a reason for fitting the big wheels or is it just for novelty/fun
