It's always seemed strange to me the way British TV works, with some shows only doing a few episodes in a year, or with several years passing between episodes of some shows. Here in the States, if a show is off the air for more than a few months, it's highly unlikely that it could ever return.

If you meant repeating American shows, yes-- they do that all the time. I meant when a show is off the air completely. Having a few months of reruns is normal.

If you meant 'French and Saunders' being repeated over here, I've never heard of it happening. But a lot of shows are only shown in a few local areas here, or are on obscure satelite channels that not everyone receives, so it's possible that it has been shown in the States, but I've never heard of it happening.

Here in the US, we have 'Absolutely Fabulous' and 'The Vicar of Dibley', so I had seen them seperately, but never together. So how long have they been doing their show? I heard it predated the stuff they're known for here, but some of this stuff is clearly more recent. Do they just do their show every few years between other projects, or what?
