  • I'm sorry for him, I hope you will find a way out of the Diseases.

Love his songs and hopefully we'll hear more from him

  • this style of guitar playing needs to be matched to some joni mitchel style lyrics...some of these open tuning/tapping style melodies need to be married to words....i think this style would create a great platform for a classy voice.

  • Didn´t knew this one.

    A fine tune.

  • That was really pretty. Loved it all :)

  • really nice song

  • I've read the *IMPORTANT NOTE*, and I'll pray for him.

Peaceful talent like that must be heard to give some hope in this world.

  • Tasty and smooth.

  • very nice

  • The definition of mellow. Thanks for great stuff.

  • What tuning are you in?

  • I haven't heard this one before, but who could not like Billy's music? Thanks for sharing this one.

  • Only a question: wich guitar are you playing, tuikun02?

  • Seagull guitar model Folk; which I believe is now in the "coastline" series (used to be in the "S" series). The pickup is an M1 by lr baggs which is not in use in this video. The mic on the kodak camera is doing the sound.

I recommend the guitar highly for a fingerstyle guy. Seagull in general is high on my list for fingerstyle guys and others. R.O.I. is extremely high. I don't think they can be beat at this time in their price range and spending more may be "wasteful".

  • OK, tuikun, I know that Canadian ( it's that?) brand. I think I've tried one here in Spain, but with a Dreadnought body, which is my preferred shape. It was in the 1000€ (1500$) range, not bad for the global quality. Thanks!

  • i couldn't be indiferent after this song, beautiful guitar song and great work of you making this cover!

  • Excellent job! And without percussion, guys!!

I try always to play it on Dropped D, but it don't works...:-)

It's an "easy" song, just like "Soul Mates". These two songs are torturing my mind and my little guitar training sessions! I don't try the tapping stuff.

I like also their aerial "emptiness". Another song in that mood is "County Wicklow mystic", that sounds a little "celtic".

  • Sounds excellent, could never dog somebody for playing some Billy! My big crit is the LOUD sliding of the left hand fingers at points.

  • Any helpful tips for me would be appreciated. Do you have any?

  • @tuikun02 get elixir strings theyre very good for sliding and wash your hands befor you play and put some lotion or a little vaseline for rough fingers

  • What an awesome job! This is my favorite Billy song. I've only dabbled with it. The beginning portion worked in DADF#AD for me - without my guitar at hand it's hard to tell- is that what you are in?

Thanks for posting, I'll check out your others. -jeff

  • DADEGD, and thanks for the wonderful comment. I'm a bit surprised at the response to this video for many reasons. Of the handful of songs I "threw at the wall"; to see this one stick -above the others- just surprises me on many levels. I can't comment on my own playing, but as far as the song itself... It is the emptiness of this song that give is so much life. It is clean and uncluttered yet rich in harmonic device.

  • Excellent performance man. You showed that it is possible to pull this off without the percussion backing and not everyone can go beyond simply playing the notes. I still think Coffee Break is the best riff ever written for acoustic guitar.

  • Simply wonderful. Oh if you could share the tabs I would love to try that piece.

  • Restful and inspiring.

  • Congratulations on performing it so well! You have inspired me.

  • bravo bravo bravo.

  • sounds great!!

  • Good,well done!

    I love Billy's music!

    Ciao from Italy

  • Bruno, I went over to your myspace. Beautiful song recordings and absolutely wonderful playing. I really should buy myself some nice recording equipment instead of just playing into a Kodak digital camera, but I need to buy a 2 more Kayaks this summer for the family. Musically I need to buy more equipment to start playing live, I have never performed live and would like to start within the next few years. I still need an acoustic amp. :-)

  • Ok,you probably needs some equipments, but you have NOW all the things for good playing: your hands,

    your guitar...

    and your heart!

I hope to see you live one day...
