It was never regarded as the literal, perfect infallible word of God by those that compiled it.

The teachings that he introduced do not reflect the teachings of the apostles, and introduced Neoplatonism that changed the very doctrines and beliefs that the apostles taught. The apostles accordin to the bible were to be the foundation of the church, and they are to be on the earth till the LORD unifys us when he comes. So where are they?
