they all do this every year when they go through the new negotiations with the providers. every now and then a network will lose a channel or 2 and then the next year they may get it back. viacom has done this a few times, fags

Viacom says they only want to raise the price by 12 cents...bull!They want us to feel so sorry for them it's terrible! Time Warner is trying to have us save instead of waist of 12% they want us to spend. Viacom will only have a few people watching their channels anyways after this. Viacom has demanded that Time Warner Cable pay an extra 12% to carry its package of 19 channels including MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Spike and TV Land. I called and pressed #3 like they said, listened to their crap then left a 'not-so-nice' message.

If Viacom is asking for too much money for these channels, then why aren't all of the other cable companies threatening to pull them off the air?

I know why, it's because Brighthouse and Time Warner are cheap bastards that love to screw over their customers.

I used to take these two cable companies' sides in the NFL Network fiasco, but after reading this it's apparent that they were just being cheap then as well.

I agree with you. Ever since we switched to "the box" with Brighthouse, all we've gotten is barely-reachable customer service, trouble with channels with no audio or freezing up, and just overall horrible service that just costs us more than we can afford. This is most likely the last straw-- it's incredibly ridiculous and I'm sick of never having TV.

Honestly, I don't watch TV that often. But my parents, who both have full-time jobs, pay good money to have it when we do have time. I know I don't need TV to live, and, just as well, I have a job of babysitting and spend most of my time cleaning up after the kids or playing with them. But if my parents, or anybody, are paying good money for it, I don't see why we have bad service.
