@RumuhAlg Good point. I think people tend to ignore what's directly in front of them. Unfortunately, many Americans are used to feeling powerless while politicians grab the power, the goodies, and make all the decisions based on special interests.
Hillary Clinton is being preened to take President Maobama's place. Both Obama and Hilary answer to George Soros who contributed to both and who has the mainstream media in his back pocket. He gets Obama to take the Country to extreme socialism passing treasonous legislation against the will of the American people, then gets Hillary in office. Our dollar is on the verge of collapse, and our sovereignty is threatened as a direct result of legislation and lack of leadership.
Clinton didn't leave a $5.6 Trillion surplus but a $1.4 trillion debt over eight years. He borrowed from Social Security, part of a $115 Trillion unfunded liability, to make it seem he left a surplus. See my about me for links. The Debt Clock should be adjusted increasing the national debt from $14.0 to $21 Trillion and reducing our unfunded liabilities by $7 Trillion to reflect the truth about Clinton.
its in like 13 trillions now i think and the 77 is to 100,000 somthing thousand (they took out the "$" sigins and put numbers because they reand out of room...
Now it's about $20,000 a second. Once they expect us to pay that debt I'm off to Norway never to return. Im learning Norwegian right now to prepare for it.
I only ask that last question about jobs cause people im trying to tell simply arent listening to me when i tell them there are no jobs cause i here that from my family all the time.
@Gameplayer77 Thanks for watching! It's say's "Your Family's Share," meaning what the average family is paying towards the entire national debt. Frightening bit of info . . . .
@Gameplayer77 Hey there! It's only for the USA. I believe there are websites that also have the debt clock on them, and perhaps there are some for different countries. I've also seen sites which calculate the number of births happening in each country and in the world, and that's also incredibly mind-boggling and the numbers just keep getting bigger and bigger.
@Gameplayer77 Sorry to hear about the seizures. My brother-in-law had a seizure in the middle of the street and was hit by a bus, so they are to be taken very seriously (he lived, thank heavens!). It's good to get a second doctor's opinion about any course of treatment, however. If you've only had one seizure, maybe there are other treatment options that your doctor isn't aware of. Also going to a specialist is important as there are new treatments being advanced by medical science every day.
@westend104 Thanks and in your opinian would you say this dept and all the way it is that there are no jobs out there for anyone and noone is hiring at the time. Your honest opinian please.
@Gameplayer77 If you open up a newspaper, there are jobs for people and businesses are hiring. National debt is tied in to the USA's balance of payments - our debts versus our income - and we've been borrowing and financing a lot of war over the past 10 years (among other things). But in some cases debt drives job growth and businesses get loans to hire people, build building, and expand. If you want a job and to work, look online and see what's out there. See for yourself. Good luck to you!
@westend104 My family says there are no jobs and that if i got one it would hurt me cause of all of this and the economy that im lucky i am with them cause getting a Job at this time for anyone would be very bad is this a True fact ?
@Gameplayer77 Well, that's hard to say and I don't really know enough to comment. If you're happy doing what you're doing, that's one thing. If you'd like to be pursuing a job or exploring some of your interests, you should probably do that without fear. FEAR is a big no-no. You might want to start your own home-based business, like computer repair or programming or freelance writing or game development. But many people I know are getting jobs (here in New York, the economy is getting better!)
There used to be a time when our politicians would logically work out the problems of this country, that day is over, it really shows in the national debt. Both sides are so afraid to make any serious changes like, true reforms to entitlement programs or the growth of government employees, I can see things only getting worse. I think that the Demorats and Republirats main thrust is: First; to stay in power, Second; to establish their ideology no matter how toxic it is for the country. Ciao
it's even more now. it's around 11.5 trillion and counting. obama even wants to spend more on so-called health care reform, yet has offered no solutions to fixing socila security and medicare/medicaid. obama is a complete idiot.
yeah, I don't get it either....trying to put through universal health care in a crashing economy and an 11 trillion dollar national debt. Don't get me wrong....I do think there needs to be some kind of health care reform(s) but why not do it in small stages over time
In all honesty, that's not even close to what how many burgers McDonalds sells in a year, or for that matter, ever. McDonalds hasn't even come close to that.
wow. that's pretty sick. $700/sec(roughly). in response to all you guys that say, work hard, and get by on the minimum, why? i work hard everyday of my life, so yes i like to spoil myself from time to time, but i always go about it with a clear idea of what to expect. the only "debt" that i have is the remainder of my car payments, which will be done within the year. all i'm sayin is, don't be afraid to live a good life.
wow, i'm about to move out of this country. that is fuckin crazy. i dont understand why people cant just spend the money they have instead they need even more and more money. me, i havent used a credit card in my life nor have i been in debt. i will not be a victim of any of this bullshit. you dont have the money, then dont buy it!
I am the same way. But I know people that work minimum wage and then they go and buy an expensive car, which any idiot could figure out if you make $450 a month and car payments are about $400, you are screwed. I guess we have just as many idiots buying million or multimillion dollar houses. Just used cars for me for now, and I'm not getting a house until I know I have enough money saved up so even if I fuck up on payments I have some money to catch up. Way not to hold people responsible!
i'm with you man. i drive an old $1200 hyundai that i saved up for a year working at mcdonalds. its broke now but i'm gonna fix it myself and just drive it till it dies. and i'm not gonna put down some bullshit mortgage. im a single man goin to college still livin with my parents till i get outta college after that i'm rentin me an old apartment. idc about the big nice houses. just any place that keeps me from outside and gives me a comfy place to sleep is good for me.
Well that clock is going to start ticking quicker because of the bailout. Great idea! Let's not hold people responsible for making a bad decision. Why not just build free houses for homeless people?
It seems to be getting worse, doesn't it? We run the government on a lot of credit, and many people and businesses also use credit. Sometimes I think it would be great to start over and trade seashells or beads!
The clock doesn't show the whole picture. It only shows PUBLIC DEBT. The 9 trillion is nothing compared to the TOTAL DEBT which includes public, private and financiar sectors. The TOTAL DEBT of the US is about 53 TRILION DOLLARS. USA is doomed!
Right you are about the public debt versus the total debt. It's staggering. Michael Pollan's book The Omnivore's Dilemma shows how Americans are eating terribly and why they are doing so; the premise is that this terrible diet is at the heart of much that is wrong with the country, aided by bad national policies. I love the U.S. in spite of the government; so many people are kind and generous. I was trapped in the debris cloud of 9/11 here in NYC; it took me awhile to gain positive balance....
