  • Is this really a multi-award winning film? I'm surprised.

The whole Montagues and Capulets feud parallel seemed rather contrived. West Side Story, this aint'.

The only thing that worked here was the endearing chemistry between the two leads. I don't mind that they may or may not end up together. But making this into a tragic young love/Romeo and Juliet story just didn't work for me.

  • it's so sad :(

  • exactly in the end of movies it says "Wedding picture were shot on feb 14th of that year.." thats the day they met in wedding shop n restaurant.. firstly i thought they end up with married finally i found the truth ending.. im so sad with this ending *tears*

  • they went to take wedding photo.. look they guys not even smile n zhao wei cry's n look so sad even finally she could smile a lil bit it's cause they can take fake wedding photo for cherish they love story.. the thing is i dont know what problem make they both cant be married n live together.. i just can guess its cause a family problem between they parents which cause the guy father suicided long time ago..

  • the guy met zhao wei in wedding shop n thought zhao wei preparing for her wedding which is they both already agreed will not married in whole of their life for the eternal love(but cant married for some problem) zhao wei said she wont break the agreement she only there for her friends weeding. they went to restaurant at the same day n its valentine day aswell they guy propose zhao wei again but refused by zhao wei which they already make agreement long time ago(cause the problem) after that..

  • My interpretation is more on the optimistic side. He said that he wants to give her happiness. She said that simply being in the same city as him, living at the same time as him is her happiness. He doesn't need to feel guilty or as if he owes her anything because just being there is enough for her. As for the crying, she's thinking of all the memories and years that they have lost, and how difficult it was for the two of them to finally come together.

  • The day they talked at the restaurant was thd day they took the photo. Ever wonder why they're only taking it by themselves? And it's straight after what she said.

  • I thought it was pretty obvious that despite them taking a wedding photo, they didn't get married.

See their expressions? Forced, pained, awkward?

They were doing this as a 'memory.'

Just see what she says when they're talking at that restaurant, you'll get what I mean.

    They can't be together =(

  • One of few good movies made by China in recent years!

  • anyone know what's the music at very last part? where they took the wedding photograph.

  • does it look wrong 2 u guys? in the camera she's standing on his left side, but in real life she's standing on his right side... something wrong? the attention for details is lacking eh?

  • a beautiful story and well made. I really like it. But the movie didn't explain when and how they agreed to get married. She didn't agree to marry at first.

Also, they seemed used to being alone but they never tried ever to see each others? Don't they miss it? Their waiting had been too many years.

  • I thought she did agree. That part was a bit confusing. It's like she was opening up the past again but she was just scared to because of what had happened before and now her dad died so it made it even worse. And I think that they both miss eachother a lot but it's just that they hadn't kept in touch for so long so it made it awkward.

  • U know? Confusing is common when I am watching Chinese and Korean movies. In this story, I could only assume the director expected viewers in believing they married b/c they are truly in love. But to me, the movie could make their reunion more emotional to touch the viewers, like love reborn.

  • True, true. There was an alternate ending when they saw eachother at the Romeo and Juliet ballet. I think that one would've been better because if you see the pics, he was kind of "chasing" her. That would've made it more romantic to me...

  • Don't like the ending. Does not look like a happy ending. She cries!!!

  • i love Zhao Wei.She is pretty and cute.

  • i love the expression in Zhao Wei's eyes in the ending scene.

  • yes

  • so wat's the ultimate ending??? They got married?
