  • Thank for posting. I really enjoyed the vid. Its really great to see that people can get such great results in such a small space.

I am saving for a backdrop as my next toy!

  • Judging by your comments it's clear to see you're not a photographer and probably someone who bought a Nikon D3100 and thinks they're the next Richard Warren because they read Strobist 101's blog.

You talk about composition? She's shooting a subject in front of a white background in a small room. What exactly is wrong with the composition? Should she have hung herself upside down and then took the shot? The rest of your comments were too stupid to even bother replying to.

  • how much was that lens?

  • what kind of backdrop do you use?

  • Great Work! I would like to know what lens was used.

    W.H.

  • Damn Raccoons.

  • This photo shoot was great! Nicely done ;)

  • Very cool video, thanks. Do you know the name of the song?

  • Great job, and in a really small room at that! I was amazed that you where able to get full body shots in that space. Like someone else said, I would be worried about distortion but if the photos look great and suit your style you can throw all that out the window.

  • what is the material of the background?

  • hi, what was the room's parameters? :) (length x width)

i am just corious because i am going to create my little studio like this one and would be nice to know how "big" was that? :)

    Thanks a lot!

  • really boring lighting and poses

  • @Tim9666 sure, lets just have the models rip their arms off and switch em with their legs...that should work... but im sure you will post your own vids for us to see, riiiight?

  • @jerryfudala What are you talking about? There is no single photo that is somehow special. They all seem flat because of the flat lightning, there is no good composition and no story behind,as well as bad posing. All backgrounds are just white and there is absolutely no dynamic.

1 Flash is basically already enough to bring some dynamic lightning into the portrait, the rest; composition, post editing,..is made by the photographer and just not good in these photos. Not offence.

  • @Tim9666 Why not use your time more wisely? Everything you said is complete bullshit.

  • @46bigbang Well then let me know which one of these photos is so terribly good in your opinion and why it is like that.

For me they are all flat, badly lighted and totally un-dynamic in every way.

And maybe get yourself a book about studio lightning, portraiture and composition.

  • @Tim9666 Wow, thanks for the comments but seriously, the room is 3m x 2.7m, with 4 people in it and a grand total of 2 100w lights, there wasn't much room for more "dynamic" lighting and composition, sometimes we just have to work with what we've got, right? Besides, it was 3 years ago, we all live and hopefully learn.

  • @jerryfudala PS; leave me your mail adress if you wanna hear my opinion regarding to one specific photo.

  • A good job working with limited space. However, as a general rule of thumb I would NEVER shoot closer than six feet from the model (with any lens), as closer distances cause undesirable distortions to occur IMHO.

  • Very nicely done. Excellent!

  • What are the brand names for all the lights you use? :D

  • excellent i love dis video!

  • You have done amazing job. keep it up :)

are you a self taught photographer or did you go to an artschool? if you dont mind asking. x

  • wow you did a good job

  • Very good in fairness, must dig my portflash out of the Attic and get Shooting

It was a Portaflash was n't it ???

  • Wide lens is a must in this studio.

  • where did you get you backdrop, stand, and lighting?

  • I love you shoot. came out great!!!

    it's cool too.

  • where can I get a white background like that?

  • nice studio, small, yet very nice shots. you really are a pro.

  • That room is tight lol ...good work .... = )

  • I reeeeally love this!!! :-D

  • hi ya.. could i ask what kind of paper roll u used in this photoshoot? im a Newbie..im gathering info..

  • Comment removed

  • What paper roll are you using? And what are the rough dimensions of that room? I'm thinking about doing something similar with my spare room

  • @eggy900 IZAL medicated

  • Other than the light source from the softbox, where is the other light from when your trigger your camera?

  • The other flash head is on a stand and is reflecting light back via an umbrella. It is quite high and the videographer was sitting under it most of the time so you don't see it much in the video :)

  • to get the white background without using a backgroundlight you have used a highf number os like your 2.8?

  • I'd say she photoshopped out the shadows.

  • No, the paper roll bounces light back and lights up brightly if you use flash heads :)

  • Great stuff - must get cracking on my own home setup!

  • Nice: good to see how others work!

  • Great work thanks for the info

  • Very good could i ask what lens you are using?
