It is still my favorite Ahnuld movie. It has drawbacks (notably the bad acting from the blonde), but it is so wonderfully brutal and manly that it is on my top 10. The sequel was awful.
I love these films, but they don't translate Robert E. Howard's Conan character very well (like the raw deal that movies gave Frankenstein's monster), or touch his important themes (e.g. the lean, clean "noble savage" versus decadent civilization).

The same later on when they are getting ready to go into the caves where the orgy is and subutai says ''we leave thulsa doom for another day'' conan just looks at him subutai says ''conan agreed'' but conan just looks at subutai then valeria. I love it. No dumb and long speeches. Only the magnificent landscapes, scenery and credible actors, together with the epic music. I wish all fantasy movies were like that.

Trailers tend to make every movie look bad, particularly this one. The film has flaws, indeed, but it has a sort of magical/dreamy feel to it. If you haven't seen it, I'd suggest giving it a shot. The few effects shots are quite bad, but they don't use many.

When they remake this, and they will, it will be a sucky, half comedy, swashbuckler laughing joking conan with no balls, gay sidekicks and awful effects, and they will dial down the violence to PG13. Conan is meant to be rated R, oversexed flesh cleaver with no patience and no fear, a brutal and skilled warrior-killer. No jokes, no wasting time with banter.. I want real Conan or no Conan.

Yes the great thing with Arnie in this is as Conan he speaks with his EMOTIONS and his body language and expressions. The music playing along with his emotions adds to the feel of this great character

Trailers tend to make every movie look bad, particularly this one. The film has flaws, indeed, but it has a sort of magical/dreamy feel to it. If you haven't seen it, I'd suggest giving it a shot. The few effects shots are quite bad, but they don't use many.
