  • i saw them back in the early 90's. it might of been the Cure for Sanity tour deal? i dunno i was totally fucking wasted before the show started. i think it was at the Hollywood Palladium? i think! fucking narcotics and alcohol! hahaha.

  • it could have been bloody poetic if Clint did the OST for Watchmen.

  • Yes, i can dig it.

  • Great music for its time, and even by today's standards. Its too bad people are losing their roots musically, literature wise, and from a point of view of reliving history and only living in the moment.

  • Great song titles too.

  • can't believe Clint Mansell went from this to film scoring! so epic, bring on the Mass effect 3 OST!

  • 電グルから

  • mc mac fries to go

  • He can dig me any time, if you know what I mean.

  • This is one amazing album. I love the entire thing. Used to go dancing to it...and wow, is Clint hot as hell. Love his hair....gonna pull out my cassette now!

  • watchmen comic as the background ahahahahahha

  • @92451721921892113 Alan Moore knows the score :D

  • Singer Clint Mansell now does film scores, including current release 'Black Swan'

  • One of the best songs EVER

  • I remember the first time I saw this video on MTV's 120 Minutes and thinking, there's no way the rest of the album is this good. Then I went out and bought the cassette, and seriously, OMG, one of the best albums ever made!!! I totally wore out that cassette and I'm glad I have the digital version now.

    Poppies forever!

  • @arclight2012, The same thing exactly with me. I celebrate their entire catalog.

  • Am I the only one who thinks young Clint Mansell was really sexy? Especially in Wise Up, but also in general. That scruffy hair, unusual (but somehow sexy) outfits, mad skills... I'd do him in a hearbeat. He also just happens to be brilliant as fuck.

  • @marissolguerra I understand because I wanted very badly to look like that. I thought the ladies would love it!

  • ALAN MOORE KNOWS THE SCORE

  • NICE!!! I like it!!!!

  • I just dig this song on karaoke again in Seattle @ Marco Polos on 4th ave s!

  • @JackOffVille - really? No way! I work around the corner from that joint. When do they do Karaoke?

  • i saw b..a..d and pwei and new order..the the..in the late 80.s..i will die a hppy man

  • @MegaWoodyx me too :)

  • Alan Moore, does indeed, know the score.

  • I just did "Can U Dig It" song on Karaoke @ Critical Massive in Washington State.

It was quite a good version of the song to sing, dance and head bang to.

I only found 2 of the 800+ people in the festival that actually knew the song.

Has anyone else tried this song on Karaoke?

  • I'm a Warrior ...I CAN DIG IT!

  • I f***ing love Pop Will Eat Itself! Clint Mansell was just the f***ing fittest thing alive back then, mmmmm! He was like macho and poncey put together, dig it! xxxxx

  • @LlewelynLaVista666 No he wasn't, I'm from Stourbridge so i should know. Good guy though, he messaged me the other day with a lnk for candydiosis.

  • Way .. before the score has been adding up, these boys have been there as well... They are"quietly" up there with the Pixies and co....

    - Who will ever wise up?If u havent, maybe in future.. Possibly us dicks, or the sounds we never tried to make on or own....Cmon!! It will Never be done in this way again...xo!!

  • ALAN MOORE KNOWS THE SCORE

  • ...and that bitch threw my TAPE out the window!!!

  • Rich girl can ya dig it!!!!!!!! Im from Manchester and yes we did dig it!!!!! Wonderful! Give me back my youth!!!!!! Long Live The Banshee!!

  • ahhhhh.... memories. I love me some PWEI.

  • After seeing all these guys music video's again recently, I'm guessing that the Mighty Boosh crew were fans. Ich Bin reminded me a lot of the way Hitcher flows.

  • did gayle and gillian blakeney appear in one of their videos ?

  • Aye they're in the RSVP vid

  • I heard this on Radio2 the other day. That made me most happy.

  • Yeah the guitar sample does sound a bit like Faith no Mores - We care a lot (speeded up slightly).

  • @portvale1972

Ah thanks it would have been torturing me for hours :P I knew I knew that riff ! ^^

  • Thses guys are so cool, remember drinking with them in the Swan by Stourbridge art collage back in the day, damn im getting old!

  • The (teeny but bright) Stourbridge scene was well & truly dead when I saw Rich from PWEI cleaning up lung chunks at Sputnik Bar in Brum - he was a barman there in the mid 90s. Shame!

  • Is that a Faith No More Sample in there?

  • the "Can you Dig it"? That's from Warriors. Only other song I've heard it in was Calico Cats by New Kingdom. Awesome, now defunct New York hip hop duo.

  • and WISE UP! SUCKER too !!! fantastic stuff !!!

sample it , loop it , fuck it & eat it !

  • Best band ever. Their like will not be seen again

  • @Thunderwolf666 They will be seen again cause they have reformed. They are minus Clint Mansell but Graham Crabb is still at the helm. All the songs that they wrote in 1996 will be on the new album (if it happens. I have my doubts). Can you dig it?

  • I was in a band called Lounge. never got anywhere but we supported PWEI on a tour round the UK. Fun tymes those were me nip

  • Yes!!! I want a new day and age ;-;

The vapid stupidity of Nowness is really starting to bug me.

  • agreed. Hopefully the 2010's will be better :P

  • the dogsa!

  • Riffs yeah !

  • they are the shit, i've seen them live twice and paid way too much money to do it. Both times they were second list, and I paid to see pwei, fuck the other band. These boys kick ass and all others can suck it.

  • The Drummer "Fuzz Townsend" works

  • that turtle neck is killer.

  • yeah, i want one like that too!

  • Yeah, I can dig it Cyrus

  • Alan Moore knows the score!

  • ..this keeps playing at work. Love the fact it seems more relevant with all the "Watchman" frames in the background "Alan Moore know's the score" indeed

  • Clint mansell leaving and doing the shit he does now was a wise idea.

  • what is he doin now?

  • He did the sound tracks for doom, smoking aces, and requiem for a dream... to name a few... he's dope

  • It really doesn't get better than this! We never got to see "Wise Up Sucker" on American MTV, so this is a special treat. Love live the technicolor climax of P W E I!!!!!!!

  • probably the best british band in the 90s for consistently good songs

  • Please, please reconsider the embed option. I want to putthis up on myspace and facebook soooooooooooooo bad. Please, pretty please?

  • Long live the Poppies!!!!

  • Not only did these dudes totally rock, but they had good taste in pop culture too.

  • Spinderella ffs - thats Salt N Pepa's DJ.

Boom boom chiki chiki boom boom chiki chiki

    .....she loves me......she loves me....

  • Are they still around?

  • Long gone, John....(sobs into Victorian hankie...) PWEI a decade b4 their time....

  • Clint Mansell does movies scores these days. You will most probably have heard his "summer overture" from "Requiem for a Drem".

  • what the fuck is a drem?

  • It's a dream with a typing error.

  • I like the bonus video halfway through...

  • Man, I really wanted to embed this on my Facebook. Crap. Reconsider?

  • Nice

  • This band was just far too ahead of their time. Electronic music went the techno route instead. Interestingly, if electronic music had followed the trail PWEI blazed it would probably have ended up being much more commercially viable than it is today.

  • Well Skinnyjoey, I'm more of the opinion that this was the British invasion that paved the way for such acts as Rage Against the Machine, Slipknot even Linkin' Park. These cats knew what they were doing, I'm sure commercially viable would have been freakin' sweet but they made solid albums that they can be proud of.

  • "Alan Moore knows the score" he sure does!

  • Sampled from the movie "The Warriors" Sirus.

  • wow memories....

  • V for Vendetta, Alan Moore, Optimus Prime...too clever for their time, but my small band lurved them.

  • I never realised until recently that Clint Mansell, the guy who wrote the music from Requiem For A Dream, you know, the peice that's used in just about every movie trailer, was in PWEI!

  • All the way mad... all the way hyped!

  • all the way all the way

  • excellent in its time and i still dig it today xxx

  • I was just searching for this yesterday! Good deal.
