also for those wondering; Skype video calling on data depends on a few factors:

-Your service provider

-Your reception

-Your surrounding environment

For me, the Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile's network was pretty good on data; came close to wi-fi quality at times. there was occasional moments where the quality dropped when the reception dropped, but overall it was pretty great quality.

Motorola Triumph only has 2.2 Froyo (as I type this) and Skype works just fine. In fact, on the market it says it requires 2.1 (Eclair) or better.

@AndroidTechDaily Well that's a lie because I use the stock Motorola Triumph (which is 2.2 Froyo and NOT 2.3 Gingerbread) and I've used my front and rear camera for Skype no problem.

Again, running stock 2.2 (no custom rom or anything) and I use the front and rear camera just fine, so the description (like cake) is a lie.

@hoverauto2 yes but if you have an app killer program (like advanced task killer) you have to set the task killer to ignore Skype or else the task killer will kill the skype background process frequently.

Video calling as always being a "nice, but pointless" feature of Skype simply because both parties need to have compatible hardware and they need to be in the mood for video chat. I mean, do you really want your caller to see you in your nightclothes?

The Touch Wiz interface is (to me, anyway) just way behind HTC Sense, especially with new improvements in Sense 3.0. If you like Touch Wiz though, more power to ya - the Galaxy S II certainly has more impressive specs. It's all a matter of what you like and prefer.

I have HTC Sensation and the app is really cool although when i use for video calls even over Wi-Fi the video from my camera freezes about 30seconds into the call, if i disable my camera and re-enable it, it does come back but then 30 seconds later the same thing happens again :( There was an update for skype for android yesterday although when I try to download it, it says app not properly signed and cancels the installation ¬.¬

If you're wondering about the desire or similarly spec'd sense phones HTC is having trouble running sense with gingerbread on it as the hardware is getting dated now. Stock sense will run perfectly as it does on the Nexus One which has identical internals as the Desire.
