  • Bollocks to the begrugders! And all power to the Occupiers in Belfast!

  • @RDH5150 @billsurlatete You guys have completely missed the point, the people inside that building are not doing this for personal gain, nor are they unemployed bums as so many people assume. Many of the people involved in this have jobs and homes to go to, however there are many people around the city centre of Belfast who do not have such privileges, even while there are many vacant buildings like this all around the city, they're doing this for them.

  • @DerionGaming i know they're not doing it for personal gain. i think most of them are sincere, but sincerity is an over-rated virtue. in principal getting homeless people in vacant buildings is good as long as you have permission from the owner of the building. its the intrusion onto private property which disgusts me.

  • taking someones property by force? disgraceful. housing is a right? mm last i checked my flat costs me £700 a month and i have to work very hard to make that payment. i hate this something for nothing attitude, that somehow ultimate responciblity lies with someone else. the part where he talked about what tthey are doing with the building made me physically ill, the intrusion is disgusting. vile

  • @billsurlatete lighten up and ask yourself why are you paying £700 for a flat..Shelter is a human right and we should all be allowed to live in good quality homes and not be ripped off by corrupt bankers and landlords

  • @undercurrentspaulo im paying 700 a month because the building i live in cost alot of money to build. i could live in a 400 a month house in the village but i voluntarily engage in this more costly transaction to improve the quality of my life. to call my landlord corrupt would be unfair as i am not being coerced into this arrangement.

  • @billsurlatete £700 A MONTH ,because ,it took a lot of money to build ,your a robotron ,that hasn't a clue ,and a jealous one in to the bargain ,BTW i get the feeling you know who owns (sorry who think they own) this building :)

  • @undercurrentspaulo in my opinion shelter is not a right. providing shelter costs money. the government has no money, only the money it takes out of my pocket. you can't be entitled to the fruits of someone elses labor. (i dont own a home, so i have limited experience of dealing with the bank)

  • HH from occupy toronto.... we ARE the 99%.....

  • Occupy Belfast is not a global movement. The Occupy movement is, but Belfast is just Belfast.

  • Hail to the Irish...

  • Very nice, Occupy Belfast!

  • Brilliant move, fair play lads!

  • finally getting some recognition, good move

  • Good on! People of Belfast are behind you

  • "housing is a right not a commodity"

    Oh really...

  • @deegg You disagree?

  • For them to claim they're an internationalist movement when members of their own group graffitied on the Spanish Civil War Memorial in Writer's Square is a disgrace. If they cleaned that up we'd take them more seriously.

  • @Itsonlyapuppet22 When did this happen?

  • Good work, good thinking, good luck!

  • Excellent ! Great to see social solidarity alive and blossoming

  • Great stuff!!!

  • Brilliant, well done to everyone. Lets hope this is just the start.
