Good video. Natalie always has some great information to share. She's right about fast food when I removed all fast food from my diet in addition to exercise ect. I lost over 160 lbs. Fast food is massive concentrated calories that are generally junk calories. I switched to stopping into super markets for lunch and buying healthy foods instead of FAST FOODS and it was quick too and so much healthier. A job loss and a gym closure threw of my diet routine but these videos help keep me focused.

Break those big meals into 6 little meals, take the stairs instead of the elevator, esp if there aren't more than 3 floors in your building. Take a spinning class or take a walk around 4 city blocks or so each day. Now, take that chipotle burrito, turn it into tacos, and ditch about 800 calories of white rice. Or better yet, take it in a bowl and make sure to keep the beans!

I think this video also highlights another reason why so many Americans stuggle with thier weight...the "Starbuck's drive through." I'm originally from Europe and have travelled a lot. I've never seen so many drive throughs and so many streets without pavements until I came to America. A start would be to plan towns so people can easily walk and cycle places rather than having to drive. Also better for community. The only Drive through I'd seen before coming here was McDonalds.
I really think you put too much emphasis on fat and calories and not enough on the sugar content of the foods you mentioned. A meal at McDonalds is lot of empty calories and a lot of sugar just like many drinks from Starbucks. The corn is used to produce tons and tons of corn syrup and livestock. The market is flooded with bad choices making good, healthy choices not only scarce, but also prohibitively expensive. But as a person with a clinically diagnosed anxiety disorder it ridiculous to propose that the occurrence of anxiety is simply a function of the food we eat. Noone gets treated for anxiety and depression by changing their diet. It may help but is not a major method of treatment. Plus everything she says is pretty commonsense.

@LIGHTUPBOB1987 a little reactionary, doncha think? It's a goal that you aim for, nothing more. Break those big meals into 6 little meals, take the stairs instead of the elevator, esp if there aren't more than 3 floors in your building. Take a spinning class or take a walk around 4 city blocks or so each day. Now, take that chipotle burrito, turn it into tacos, and ditch about 800 calories of white rice. Or better yet, take it in a bowl and make sure to keep the beans!

I think this video also highlights another reason why so many Americans stuggle with thier weight...the "Starbuck's drive through." I'm originally from Europe and have travelled a lot. I've never seen so many drive throughs and so many streets without pavements until I came to America. A start would be to plan towns so people can easily walk and cycle places rather than having to drive. Also better for community. The only Drive through I'd seen before coming here was McDonalds.

I really think you put too much emphasis on fat and calories and not enough on the sugar content of the foods you mentioned. A meal at McDonalds is lot of empty calories and a lot of sugar just like many drinks from Starbucks. As for calories, one who is extremely active, male or female, will need a a lot more maintains to maintain normal weight because of a faster metabolism.

@XxJames08xX The government actually DOES have some responsibility for the US fast food problems because they heavily subsidize corn farming. The corn is used to produce tons and tons of corn syrup and livestock. The market is flooded with bad choices making good, healthy choices not only scarce, but also prohibitively expensive. People need to make good choices, but our agricultural system can't support us even if we all wanted to start eating healthfully.

I think we can all agree that she is right that what you put into your body dictates your overall health. But as a person with a clinically diagnosed anxiety disorder it ridiculous to propose that the occurrence of anxiety is simply a function of the food we eat. Noone gets treated for anxiety and depression by changing their diet. It may help but is not a major method of treatment. Plus everything she says is pretty commonsense.

great video, great info. it is amazing how unhealthy some of these foods can be and we are eating them everyday! I can't believe how bad a big mac value meal is for you--and the large sandwich at quiznos.
