Hey Jon, just being curious, what in your view gives Premiere Pro the main advantage over Sony Vegas (presuming you've used Vegas that is) if you haven't used Vegas then don't worry my question will be pointless, if you have used it though I'm just curious to know what you think is much better about Premiere Pro than Vegas? Only reason I ask this by the way is because I'm using both programs but I am undecided about which one would be better for me regarding my media college projects..

@HellVanquish - Premiere Pro is a professional app with unlimited possibilities, outputs, settings, formats, etc... whereas Vegas is a prosumer app that can't do half of the shit PPro can. It's not a matter of opinion so much as it is the simple truth...

This isn't to say Vegas is bad, it just isn't as good.

I have used Vegas for over a year now and it has worked wonders for me. But I wanna use Premiere Pro because of the Mercury thing in it. It's like an automatic render for it. I actually prefer Premiere Pro for that but if you check my content out, am trying to basically do what I do in Vegas, but in Premiere Pro. So yeah. : P

@hbiggs96 - Yes, of course. But unfortunately, it's lacks many key features Premiere includes. Also, I use After Effects and Photoshop quite often... and keeping everything "in-house", for me personally, is much easier.

You say FCP is easier... when was the last time you used PPro? Because if it was a long time ago, or not for an extended period of time... you might want to reconsider.

Instead of scaling the video up manually, you can right click on the footage in the timeline, then scale to frame size. It usually works :)

@UneX100 - Sometimes, but, I work with a lot of different media, and different aspect ratios, and "scale to frame size" doesn't always produce the results I want... so I've just gotten into the habit of doing it manually.

@UneX100 Also, when you do that. PPRO pixelates the image more. Because the frame fit is setting the size of the already blown up image to 100. Than when you need to do any digital zooming, it makes it worse. By putting it at native res size, than setting the zoom around 300, for 480p video. You're blowing it up from its original size first.
