  • i have HVX204, can i use " Focus FireStore FS-100" for my camera?

  • I did everything step by step. Please I need Help.

FS100 does not respond and I can't record on P2 mode HD

does The P2 cards need to be inserted in order to work with the FS100.

  • @pepewatson hi pepe.

the p2 cards do not need to be inserted.

are you connected to the correct firewire port on the FS100?

are your settings correct for the iee394 setting on the hvx200?

  • FS100 does not respond and I can't record on P2 mode HD

does The P2 cards need to be inserted in order to work with the FS100.

  • @pepewatson no it does not. you might have a bad firewire or bad firwire port on the camera both things are common.

  • The P2 needs to be inserted in order to work with the FS100

  • @pepewatson no it does not I don't own a P2 card but use the FS-100 all the time

  • hi how can i overcracking and undercracking with the panasonic hvx200?

  • Where do you put your footage if you don't have a laptop/Imac on a set?

  • @sonne5 if you have a Firestore you just shoot till it's full.

  • for jvc gy hd 101 sirve?

  • hi sorry for my english, i have an incompatibilty problem for the mxf format in premier cs3 (3.0 version), i import from FS-100 hard drive, i have a windows 7 ultimate, my configuration is the same of the video plz help me

  • The FS-100 can record in P2 (MXF), Quicktime, AVI, and other formats. It seems you are recording under the P2 format. There should be an option in that tab which enables you to record in AVI. Or you could record to Quicktime? Depends on your NLE though

  • how to record on theFirestore 100 and Tape Simultaneously?

  • Thats a good question becasue i wanted to have back up on tape just incase and I foudn out al you have to do is have a tape in the deck and boom it will be on the tape as well.

  • What are the DV FORMAT settings for recording on DVCPro/dv mode and also on tape? Is it P2 or QT?

    Thanks

  • P2 cards are good if you have a LOOOOONG shoot and you want to be continually dumping footage while the camera is still recording. for instance, if you have a 100GB firestore, and no cards, you are NOT able to record for the time period it takes while you're dumping.

on the other hand, if you have (2) 8GB p2 cards, you can fill one up, and dump it to a laptop while filling up the second, and keep switching like this, never having down time

  • does the firestore record variable frame rates, like if i wanted to overcrack the hvx200a to shoot at 60 fps, because if it does then why would people want p2 cards instead?

  • This did not work for me, anyone know of any more detailed tutorials?

  • Without doin any research, I came into a lot of money - just kidding, but I may be able to buy one of these things. Will it work with a Canon XH-A1? If not, is there a product that does the same thing for the Canon's. How come I can't just use a small hardrive, put it into an external HD case, with a firewire port on it, and then power it some how, and let it rock?

  • the FSC (not the FS-100) is the right one for your Canon XH-A1

that, or the new Firestore FS-5. this is the best one lately.

  • Another awesome video !!! Nice job guys

Would love to see a video that would take us into more depth with the FS-100.

  • U hot......

  • Does this work with the AG-HPX170?

  • yes

  • FCP should be able to see this files with an "import" but not a "capture".

m2t is a file transport stream... there is a program called VLC media player which definitely plays the files. you might try a search for mac software that will handle m2t (mpeg 2 transport streams)

in fact, compressor might even be able to convert them back to usable files for fcp

  • You guys seems to be pros with this item. I have an Canon XL-H1 HDV camcorder. When i connect my Firestore FS-C DTE hard drive to my camcorder to record in HD mode, it gives me the option m2t format. But when I record in this format my computer cannot read it. Even Final Cut Pro doesn't give me the option to import these files for editing. Can you help me out?

  • the FS-4 will only accept DV signals from the XLH1. it will not accept HDV from it.

  • Would FS-4 60GB work with my Canon XL-H1? Or is FS-C the only model that works?

  • On my Canon XLH1, do I switch to Disc mode or to Tape mode when using Firestore DTE?

  • the name of the mode you want to be in is tapeless

  • I have Canon XLH1. Would this fs100 work with my camera? I bought Firestore FS-C 60GB but I don't know how to use it. Can you give me some some advice?

  • fs100 will NOT work with your camera. the FSC is the right choice for the XLH1

  • if i have the fs100 do i need a p2 card to record HD. or is the FS100 all i need

  • fs100 is all you need. it takes the place of p2 cards

  • in the first version of the device, there were some minor issues. since then, i've heard nothing but good things.

if footage does get lost or corrupted, there may be no fix.

  • Do you know if there are any problems with the firestore? I've heard that sometimes footage can get lost or corrupt, if so how do you fix this?
