Most of the technologies in US aren't homemade. There has always been a team of Indian/Asian scientists behind it (with some Americans). Google it you will get to know. even then i don't feel that India should be credited for that. who cares about US.
Reason?I strongly feel scientist and technology are not the private property of any country. They belongs to HUMANITY.
Great video. Sad to see the shuttle go. What irks me badly is the fact that the NASA admins (=screwups), along with our congress, senators and president haven't figured out a new plan that wasn't ready when this Shuttle retired. Why now do we have to wait 5 years for the next thing? And a thing that is only as comparatively capable as the Saturn 5/Apollo days; no flyback, no massive amount of cargo area for bring back. Since the early 70's, we've been going bakcward...what's next to inspire us?
Did my "creamy roll comment" offended you? I have nothing against US or you in particular. It's ok, no grudges. I understand you frustration, you are just a old retired (may be mentally also) guy who was trying to pull some traffic to his "godforsaken youtube channel", which is up since 2007, but still have some 370 subscribers.
Good strategy i would say. Cheers. i did visited you channel, one more hit. gonna party tonight...? huh?
How Werner Von Braun would be crying right now. Perhaps one day companies like Lockheed can move past bureaucratic nonsense that has held us back and explore the space system for profit and for the progress of mankind.
We have many problems to continue this program. But NASA gives us dreames. The space shuttle system is awesome. Thx NASA. I'm waiting for the next project!
Could a X15 scale vehicle fit inside an Atlas V vehicle? Or a A12 scale vehicle on shuttle scaled down boosters? Or a submarine scale vehicle in two parts on shuttle style boosters? I ask, cause its driving me nuts. Also in the May 10 2011 issue of Next big Future "NASA has put out a call for a $200 million mission to show how to store and transfer rocket propellants in space. " Good contract to win
@MokomaSusi Orion was cancelled along with the Constellation program due to America's excessive state debts. The ongoing debt crises prevents new manned space programs for the next decades. Additionally, there are too many UFO-nuts and conspiracy publishers in US, who try to sabotage and derail real space science. Consequently, US will buy lanch capacities from Russia and China. This situation points to large probability, China will dominate manned space travel for the next centuries.
