when kids are old enough to be curious about guns, that is the age to teach them about guns. great parenting man. you always get the one or two who cry about it.. but the real tears start when you don't teach your children, and they come across a firearm.
this is awesome! there's no better way to improve your kids safety and knowledge than getting out and doing it! i wish more people would realize that it's never too early to start shooting and having tons of fun!
Good to see you pass shooting spts knowledge to the next gen. of shooters. I also get flak from folks about starting my son now 8 so young. He is just starting his range qualifications this summer. But as an NRA Cert. Inst. he has been learning safety, nomenclature as will as open-chamber drills on 10/22 since he was 3. Now he has it down and scored 100% on the same safety class I give adults. Everyone is different, my boy is more focused than most his age. We also dont allow "toy" guns.
@BerettaM9USAF i never thought that way about "toy" guns but when you put it in that context i can easily see how they could confuse a real one with a toy. then if they find a gun at the neighbors house they think it's a toy! Much better to have them treat all of them as real and not get into an accident! safety literally translates into more freedom! because when some one gets hurt people are all too willing to try to take said thing away!!!
this guy ronin1018 thinks he knows it all.... haha any time he want to step out on the range let me know......thanks D ps its cool ur showing ur kids how to shoot and thats a great gun to teach with.
@machinemetalhead it is what it is man, a bull barrel a trigger job and a nice hogue grip stock, its basically all the bells and whistles people eventually buy to dress up that old ruger, so why not just buy this model?
@machinemetalhead I honestly can't comment in comparison to other 10/22's. I know that I liked it, but I'm sure I would like a standard 10/22 as well. Kind of wish I didn't sell it.
@kolijahc What are you even talking about? My boys are on the left side of the gun, the ejection port is on the right. And yes, Eye pro is very important, but after spending time with my Spec Ops unit and two deployments in Iraq, you get a little, shall we say, careless lol. Body Armor, check, Weapon Check, MRAP PMCS check, eye pro, WTF is that! lol. YES, WEAR EYE PRO! There, I've done my duty as a non-commissioned officer.
Who was the ONE idiot who gave this a dislike this guy is letting his kids learn and shoot a gun in a good way that does NOT hurt them, kick to hard, or intimidate them.---- and to the guy with the kids good job man its about time i see a video that doesnt screw a kid up with firearms you have my thumbs up ^_^
I still remember an army sergeant from Fort Bragg that took a small group of us 9 year olds to a range for our first rifle shooting experience. I was hooked and have celebrated over 50 years since then and continued shooting as a hobby ever since. Thanks for the great video.
I've shot a couple of times at camp as a kid with a .22 caliber rifle. Thing's like a peashooter, but it's fun nonetheless. It's such a good feeling to load a bullet in a chamber, too bad I don't have an excuse as an adult to ever go target shooting again :-(
@PelletGunSniper51 lol actually the tree was 300m away. It served as the marker they would use to find the target in the scope. They were actually shooting at a free standing target about 25 M away. Thanks for watching!
This is great to see. A father out with his boys teaching them how to shoot at a young age. Memories they will have forever. I'm sure you're bound to encounter the typical pro liberal idiot that will claim what you're doing is terrible and glorifying these heinous killing machines know as guns. I think it's good to learn about them at a young age. If they're taught as taboo, they'll mistreat them when they're older. nice job.
Great video! Your boys will remember this experience for the rest of their lives, just like I remember shooting with my old man when I was a kid almost 30 years ago.
Great video!

but hey safety first, that being said be sure to have the kids wash their hands as most 22 ammo is lead.
