@blktenor It's actually a prequisite. all our priests (except for the monks) are required to be married. It's on;y practical, how can someone guide a family if he doesn't have one himself.

@PanFascist85 ???? I'm Coptic, so my 2 cents count. What are you talking about,. Egyptians are cosmopolitan(neither black, nor white)Copts are there own ethnicity. "Black" Egyptians are ethnically Nubian, Muslim Egyptians are predominantly "Arab", Alexandrians are mixed with Greeks and Italians, and Hebrews, etc. Furthermore no such thing as black or white we are all the human race, we just all produce different amounts of melanin. I really wish my church was like this. Although I am coptic, the older more conservative members of the church don't like making the youth feel welcomed. For example, the liturgy is read either in arabic or coptic. Basically this drove ALL the youth to stop going to church.

Its a shame because the church that I grew up with has numbered days left.

First and foremost Copts (as the term has come to mean) are Christians. Most are of the orthodox persuation (i.e. neither Catholics who are considered to be leaning towards the right, no protestants (the lefties of Christianity). We believe in the One Triune God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. We believe in the Redemptive work of God the Son, who is our Lord Jesus Christ. We confess his crucifixion, believe in his resurrection and ascention and proclaim his second coming...
