I saw the 4 point one, which rose ocncerns, this design shown here is much better and much more plausable. I assume that the motions here have been sped up 100X or so.
if someone can prove that this can even be made i may give it consideration. as of now it's just a 3d concept that is purely imagination with no real engineering concept
Yes dumb fuck. This has applications here on Earth and we want American scientists to be ahead with the technology. Not to mention this could be the greatest rover solution out there.
so does anybody know what the purpose of it going up to the dead one n then walking away? was it like "OH S***! THAT COULD HAPPEN TO ME!" n then decides to go into that cave thing? please help me cause im confused in this matter.
I saw a simpler version of this concept and couldn't understand what the point was. Then I saw this, and suddenly I got it. This is an amazing idea, I hope it proves to be practical in application.
It might come in handy under special close quarters tasks, but for something like longterm longdistance travel and physical tasks and taking pictures I'm not so sure.
The tetrahedron model as put together by studying crop circle plans(this is on youtube)show that water
and hydrogen are used as a power source..and the vehicle moves like any ufo..because it is one. Why crawl around when you can fly...to other galaxies? Robotics needs to come into the 21st century...stop reinventing the wheel..which would have been a better invention than this one.
OMG I can see so many problems with that! Would be a fun project to work on. I bet the software for that thing would be a major pain. It would have to be very reliable too... my robots get stuck a lot, and I can see this one getting stuck a whole lot. I really should be working for NASA :)
Yes, Needs no power source. No command unit, and apparently it's mission is to simply show us a electroset with a brain fantasy. I guess with it's uniques invisible power source it will stop and transmit it's recorded images from it's invisible sensors along it's invisible antenna amplified with it's invisible antenna and while it does all this it will do it autonomously for 40 minutes at a time while it waits for earthbound instructions.
See the 4Tet prototype that they actually built. All of the electronics can be housed in the end bulbs. The batteries could be in the center of each tube, limited to the shortest length. Cameras today are only the size of a fingernail, or even smaller. It's not nearly as "impossible" and you think it is. You just don't have enough imagination.
i totally agree. anyone can make some criticism but the thing here needs scepticism.. any1 can say "i could work for nasa" but since he doesnt it must be a reason. And many many people as you said with felicity, have no imagination at all.pity!

Some people know nothing about science.
The fact that the idea is now in the arsenal is all that matters. Do you really think what you see in this video is the finished product?

Awesome concept, although i see its principles of movement and design to be more usefull as a modular system of robots at the nano or micro scale.
