Great remix to a great classic. I was one of the dancers in this movie and we all knew it was going to be a huge flop; over produced, over blown and a bad plot. It's a shame it came out just at the end of the disco era, but even if it had been done earlier it still wouldn't have done well. The best thing about this movie was the music and ONJ was such a nice person to work with; she treated everyone with respect. People like that are rare in this industry and I'm glad I'm out of it, sort of!

With all the criticisms, the movie did just what it was supposed to do---entertain-ONJ, a real talent & beauty-awesome legend Gene Kelly-fantastic ELO music-and to YOU & ALL the dancers, you were absolutely fantastic at every level with loads of talent, great energy & great moves-i had a crush on Matt Littanzi, but many of the other dancers were better---for me, Xanadu was never a flop-just a great musical to lose myself in as it entertains me to this day. Well Done!

@1clarinet1981 I probably shouldn't have been quick to call it a flop, which has different connotations. On the entertainment level I think it was successful, but financially it didn't pan out. As long as it's enjoyed that's all that really matters. It was an experience and I have to admit I like to watch it just to see what I was like back then. How things have changed over the years! I loved the hair on ONJ, and thank goodness the girlfriend I had looked like her and i persuaded her to get that hair style as she had the right blonde hair for it. Once she did, she looked a million dollars, and she was often asked if she was ONJ which always made my day when she told me! Her name was Diane, and little did I know Princess Diance would copy that hairstyle somewhat years later!

There were 4 hits from this album- "Magic" "Xanadu" "Suddenly" and "I'm Alive."

"I'm Alive" was by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and was awesome as it sounded very much like Xanadu. Even though the show was not so much corny but bizarre, it is being brought back to Broadway. I hope the show is better than the movie, but I'll go anyway if it means it'll bring Olivia Newton John's music back.
