  • I don't drive,im aloud to have 3 antennas on the roof according my my land lord. Was planing the 2m/440 like i have,a HF antenna and a beam for satellite work..

  • Man this is so depressing, wish i could find a HF antenna i can put on my apartment roof ,that doesn't cost a arm and leg,my radio wouldn't sound so dead then lol.

    I do have a Ringo 2m/440 antenna,but no HF :(

    I have the Yaesu FT-897D.

    Im KB3SKU :)

  • look for a antenna called a opek hf antenna its a moble 80-70cm in its a jumper antenna its pretty cheap its should be under $100 in easy to set up inside or out off a window or something in should do the job

  • I live in a house and still have a crappy lay out for HF antenna's. BTW im not to far from you so hello neighbor! KB3SDS

  • Hello :)

    How close are you?

  • i have never heard anything like this

    KE7PON

  • band plan or not they can use a freq 5kc up...the band plan is a suggestion, not law...they are all hams and can use the band how they wish...14.230 14.233 and 14.235 are always busy with SSTV so I am not surprised

  • Yes your right ,and they use it like Morons

  • KE7DUX - Licensed Radio Operator - forgot that part :)

  • Sounds like the ending of Star Wars episode IV when they were gonna blow up the death star.

  • WOW, when the SSTV popped in they I CRACKED UP!!!!

I saw the freq and KNEW what was going to happen

    yes, SSTV calling is 14.230

  • does anybody read their bandplan ????

isnt 14.235 the sstv calling frequency,, they do have a right to operate there

    kc9mav must not know this

anyhow, poor operation is always seen on 20 meters.

  • it has been my understanding that 14.230 is the frequency for sstv

  • Hey OM:

Nice vblog, but can you scare up sum sun spots while your at it?

    73 OM

  • i think america is being mentioned so much, probably because if the american independence, was on the same date. but also, maybe it could be linked with kosovo.

i wann get one of these.

is this a radio scanner (RF) the type you can use for CB, baby monitors, and other shit, or is it an ameteur.

  • Well thats what contesting and pile up's are all about.

Its a big boys game and you got to have a good setup to play the game.

    gregW:-) OH2FFY

**See my Ham Radio video on YouTube**

  • Shows the poorness of operators (SSTV) just interfering with everything!

  • krazy, the other stations must not hear each other well. perhaps a good setup like your is too good:)

  • lol thanks for the comment, actually i was really suprised that i heard a pile up! I just have a homemade dipole antenna the ends on the fence and middle up on a tree and i could barely make it into CA with 100 watts! I am regulated by the home owners so :( But i am going to get a buddistick this week! So i can hide that as its same height as my 2m 9 feet :D 73s thx for watching

  • LOL! Sounds more crowded than an 11 meter AM CB rig in the 1980's! But at least the on air cussing was absent! Nice conditions for BCB and shortwave DX'ing too! My BCB/SW crystal radio was pulling in signals like crazy! I had 300+ miles BCB and 4000+ miles SW, all from the energy of a 75ft inverted L and cold water pipe earth, no batteries or AC! Happy Hamming to you, CX5DN!

  • its...talking

  • Dan this is one of the reasons that someone onetime invented the Beam antenna and towers to cut so,e of that madness from the 20 meter band.

  • thanks for subscribing :) Yes i know but there are 2 problems, one i have the homeowners, and 2 way too much money for me :). 73s

  • and then someone invented the "contest" and relaxed building of friendships across borders have been replaced by short "ur rst 559 and now bugger off" burts...

    73 , --- .... ---.. -..- .- -

  • What a dam noise hihi

  • it may be noise to you but us hams know this well

  • Well I'm a ham and it's a dam noise!

  • Well.. nice video Daniel, and a very nice conditions to on HF.. i hope make a contact whit you some day on 10m or another band :).. Good Dx`s

    73`s, Javier.

  • Yes i was surprised heard all over America. I started to recieve psk31 and i got venezuela!!! To bad i don't have a interface bummer. Can you get on HF yet?

  • right now i dont have HF :(, only VHF.

    73`s

    CX5DN

  • Woa what a pileup! I just got my tech ticket about a month ago and plan to get my general soon. Can't wait to get on HF! Maybe we can make a contact. By the way... what kind of antenna are you using for HF? I can't decide on what to buy.

  • congrats! Sure that be great on the contact. I have a homemade dipole antenna.. and a used hygain 10,15,20,40m vertical antenna that a ham buddy gave to me :D its still sitting around, still need to get a pole to mount it. I would get a vertical, its def much better then a long wire :).

  • Very nice conditions on hf there
