Um And Dont Format It Becoz u lose all ur info and then u have to get all your shit back

1) unscrew the 2 screws near the chager port

2) remove screen be CAREFULL whilst removing it not to break the ribbons! there are 3 in total (labled 1-3)

3) check ur ribbons for damage cuz that was the problem on mine + give it a clean

4) If theres no damage then reconnect it securely

5) hopefully it will start working did for me.

problem for me was ribbon 3

1. Try to reformat it

2. Check your cables (Open the iphone). Propably one cable is not good with the connection

The problem is the digitizer touch screen, you will need to change it. I know it for a fact because i had some iphones with the same problem.

You have to restore your ipod! First press the home button and the ON/OFF button at the same time till an apple appears. Then keep pressing only the home button till you get the restore mode. connect to your computer using iTunes and that's all

After replacing my Glass (digitizer)

The damn phone has not been responding 100% I would say it freezes and only barely senses the touch 60% of the time.

I've tried restoring and master reset. No help.

I've read msgs about really watching out for connector 3. Havent tried this. Has anyone have success with this?

same here dude! i got this refurbished iphone 2G 16GB for $350 off ebay. Looks like new. thought it was a killer deal. It still is except for the random "slide to unlock" freeze!!!

The problem was on the midboard and I started to remove all cables that was hook on to the logicboard from the midboard and when i got into the " proximity sensor cable assembly " bingo the iphone 2g worked without any freezing after hours and hours of testing still fine. Once this flex cable is pluged back into to board the freezing starts again.

I have come to a solution at least on my case of this problem.

The problem I found on mine iphone after replacing nearly every bit available to replace eg: logicboard and Dysplay + digitizer, i only had the midboard left.

Dude, I have the same freaking problem, I do everything you do all day every day on my phone. I hope someone can find a reason for this madness because it is making me crazy. I noticed also if the sun is very shining directly on the sensors next to the ear piece, it will slow to a freeze. If you cover the ear piece area, it will go back to normal speed. It is weird. What the hell is going on?

i have the same problem with my iPhone 3G 16GB factory unlocked firmware 2.2.1...freeze evrytime after 30 sec or 1min in standby....to fix it i just need to put it again on standby and wake up akgain thenn works...but the problem is if somebody calls me i cant take the call....fcking bullshit

When you were swiping it at the 1:40 mark i'm going thru that same problem with my iphone. But on the good side if I try to turn off my phone the top part works.

no man, I have sold my iphone. But you should try to sync it with another computer. And reinstall the software ;)

this happend to me but in a different way mine would get onto the unlock and you could to that but then it totalky froze... of the internet i was told to go to itunes and totaly restore (DONT) you will loose everthing on does this.. hold the power button and the main menu button in for 45 seconds its a mini computer you just gotta give it a chance then it should be fully workable again just you dont loose your stuf this way

I have the exact same problem since I upgraded from 1.1.4 to the 2.X.X firmwares.

I didn't had the problem with 2.1 for a long time but lately it has become just insane. My iphone is frozen almost every time I try to wake it up.

I found that downgrade to 1.1.4 resolve the problem.

I made much tests trying to find the causes, found nothing conclusive. My best lead is on a battery charge problem, I found that leaving the phone completely discharge itself and letting rest off for a night can help.

This only happens when your iPhone has been jailbroken, am I right? Some people have excessive issues with jailbreaking their iPhones. If it only happens after you have jailbroken it, you can't get a replacement under waranty since jailbreaking voids according to popular belief.

It if happens when your iPhone is NOT jailbroken, well maybe you have a chance of getting a replacement from apple.
