  • nice playing and great tone....you've mentioned the neck is an american std., can u pls tell me where to get one ?. i too want to replace my h'way 1 strat with a different neck. does all strat neck fit h'way 1 body??

  • strats wrap so nicely around the manboob

  • gotta love the reverb!!

  • how are these pickups for Hendrix/Clapton/Mayer playing?

  • @PwnYouAtSoccer these pickups are the epitome of hendrix playing...check out the lace sensors for clapton playing...no idea when it comes to john mayer

  • @ghettocumquats thanks. i already got the Texas Specials though (and i love them)

  • you really like that d note huh? ha

  • @lamboga89 :::: Well you may know this already, but especially in Blues, playing around one note and always returning to it is a nice and safe road to proper phrasing... as players mature they might mix it up different routes back to it so its less obvious, but all blues players use this technique :)

  • nice Frankenstrat!

  • Nice sounding rig. I'm playing a 62 Reissue with Fralin pickups and Ernie Ball Power Slinkys through a Fender Blues Jr, amp - I've got to say I really like your sound.

  • if thats sloppy playing then what you would you call my playing....... :(

  • So THIS is the "glassy" sound people keep referring to. Ahhhhhh.... i like it! :)

  • having a bad time deciding between these and the lace sensors.... :(

  • @wretcheddog how much gain do you use/does noise bother you?

  • Is it possible to get a good distortion sound with the picups as well? I mean, could I have another type of pickup in the guitar like a DiMarzio, or would the two pickups like merge together and create 1 unique sound? I'd like to use just 1 good electric guitar for...the best of both worlds. lol, I mean, a bit of classic, a bit of heavy metal.

  • I tried to change my pickups on my highway one but couldnt lift off the cover!! anyone with the same problem?

  • i know the pickup switch is not all the way quite on neck. but it still sounds really not that warm. even when you switch to the neck. its not quite warm.

  • how well does that trem work? does it stay in tune well?

  • The CS 69s are easily Fender's best pickups, in my opinion.

    Great playing, by the way.

  • should i buy these pickups, texas specials or the 54's ?

looking for a good clean tone (SRV - Lenny, JH - Little Wing,) but that can scream if you put on some overdrive?=)

    nice video and playing!

  • @bluesnorway

    They're all good, imo.

CS 54's for pure, balanced tone.

Texas Specials are hotter - I love 'em because I play a lot of R&B and low down Blues. They're made to get SRV's tone WITHOUT having to use any effects.

CS 69's are closer to what Jimi's guitars had.

  • @bluesnorway

You might also consider Fender Fat 50's and especially D.Allen 69 VooDoo sets.

D.Allen is a CA. boutique maker with very reasonable prices. He's got videos on youtube.

  • i like your playing! is that the original paint job?

  • @42chimchim Thank you!....its just a stock highway one body.

  • I'm going to cum!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I am going to buy these pickups too!

  • Sounds like fucking shit.

I'd be happy to take it off your hands. Ill send the address and since I am such a nice guy, Ill pay for shipping.

  • Not bad at all dude, i might get a pair of them, great playing!

  • I absolutely love the snap you can get, yet how warm it is when you play soft. Very expressive.

    Mitch

  • I use an american strat with custom shop 69's and a super champ XD and it sounds nothing like that. Were you using any pedals or have you done any mods to the amp?

  • @rossfloss Brand new Amp no mods. Just the guitar straight into the amp on the clean channel. Incredible sounding amp.

  • @ericmu17 and incredible sounding fender stratocaster pick ups :)

  • @rossfloss Maybe its the cameras microphone....It actually sounds alot warmer.

  • @ericmu17 ahh good point. Great playing!

  • @ericmu17 Yeah you're probably right! What are your EQ knobs set at? Anyhow, great playing man!

  • @rossfloss yeah it could be settings man play around

  • whats the different to vintage tremolo and standard tremolo?

  • go ernie ball man. daddarios blow big time.

  • Dude! Y didn't u finish playin that johney cash at the end!? Sounded great!

  • Im using the clean channel here bass- 6 treble - 6

OD channel same EQ Setting #6 Gain maxed

  • I just got a SuperChamp XD. What settings do u use?

  • Beautiful Guitar!!!

  • mine sound more like 50s pickups come to think of it....very low output, but i do love them

  • i put 69s in mine and rewired it as well but they dont sound like this, yours sound like my old mim strat pickups,my cs 69s sound proper vintage there fucking amazing,i did put a sprague orange drop capasitor in as well a .o47uf i was after that vintage strat sound and ive got it in a mim strat
