Also the Republicans have been the best in terms of allowing working visas for Indians in IT. There are many people who have several relatives coming to the states on H1 visas. That is very important to them. This is an extremely vital issue for the majority of Indian Americans because the bulk of migration of the community took place in the 90's with the IT boom. The newer immigrants have now vastly outnumbered those that came in the 60's,70's or early 80s. And even to the earlier immigrants, they have relatives that come in via H1 so this has been heavily supported.

The far left has anti-competition protectionists. The vast majority of both Indian American citizens and immigrants support H1b.
