@blindfollower : No, it is not and we do have non-vegetarian dishes. Indian diet is primarily a vegetarian diet so we just have more vegetarian dishes :)
I was really surprised how u do the seitan. Usually you have to wash the dough several times till the water becomes clear. Is there any noticable difference?
Hello there. Is wheat flour the same thing as wheat gluten? Coz after seeing this video I went to a lot of places (Im from Mauritius by the way) but there is no such thing as gluten here (sadly!). Any alternative please?
@aphelionravi : Wheat gluten is when the gluten part is separated from the wheat flour and used. If it is not available ready made, the alternative is to make it yourself. It is a tedious process but do-able. Search for "how to make wheat gluten" on youtube and there are a few videos on it. GL :)
@aphelionravi You simply make a dough with wheat flour and water then let ir rest, then wash it of with water in a bowl to get rid of the starch so you will only have the gluttendough after that you can follow this recipe for taste
OK...what's the catch? When something sounds too good to be true, it usually ends up being bogus...and this siynss *entirely* too good to be true. I live in east podunk and v
Remember the polish recipe for a mayo salad that I gave you? You can use veggies from the broth to make this salad, they are perfect for that. An I promise it won't be tasteless :)
Any reason you couldn't use cold vegetable broth rather than water to create the sponge? Seems like it might give anothe layer of flavor. (And thanks for posting!)
complaints complaints.. people still eat meat.. get a life people.. veganism is a religious and mental choice to reject the foods your ancestors ate to make some obscure point.. get over it and go watch the gypsyfoodnetwork
question ladies, I don't have tandoori masala, can i just use my regular garam masala and maybe add cayenne or something? I'm not totally sure whats in it.
Yes, you can. In addition to the spices in garam masala, tandoori masala also has a bit of ginger and garlic. Also, depending on which brand of garam masala you use, it can have a different set of spices. Bottom line, make it flavorful.
I tried boiling seitan when I first became vegan and it came out horrible so I stuck to steaming and baking it. I would love to see how you use it for tandori :-) And Hetal, yes your hair does look awesome!
It's so funny that you introduce Gluten/wheat free cooking then show a recipe on how to make wheat-meat/ seitan lol I used to love it but it was my intro to wheat-meat that I discovered my gluten intolerance...however, this is an excellent recipe for those who can enjoy it. Thanx for sharing.
thank you eloheireh but i have allergy to soy and gluten.i was trying to find meat substitute.i will take your advise and try the bean burger. i would like show me the curry to make a recipe
just to share a small tip: if you're not going to use all of your seitan in one day's cooking, make sure to keep the veggie broth that it was cooked in. Put the seitan & broth in an airtight container in the fridge and it'll keep for a little while. :) thanks for uploading! I have tried making seitan before and I think I will try your method out and see what I get.

For some fun the word satan is a corruption of an arabic word shaitain used by the early christian church to use against the evil arabic peoples...It simply mean accuser. Satan was in the garden of eden as god's prosecutor. People have taken the original story and morphed it a little. Second I am a proud member of P.E.T.A. People Eating Tasty Animals. Beyond that nice recipe.
Great video! I am a vegetarian and would like to introduce other vegetarian options for my family. I think this will be a nice way to and a bit of texture to our meal. Thanks you for sharing. I am looking forward to the curry you are making from it. :)
Do more of these veggie meat recipes! When i became vegan i felt so deprived of the flavors i enjoy. I didn't (still dont) know how to prepare the meat substitutes to be flavorful.
Is your channel vegeterian? btw awesome recipe, will have to try :D

@stewardger : Price-wise washing process is cheaper, flavor and texture-wise very little difference but ease-wise, this one wins hands down :)
