Respectfully, I disagree. I have the history of two lands in me, including this one (Canada) and I respect both. My point is that racism of any kind is wrong - from any people against any people. I'm sure Wovoka is proud of you! I especially like the part addressing that we are, are own enemy. I am not Native American but, I appreciate the culture and would like to learn more. Last year I had the opportunity to visit the Smithosonian Native American Museum and I encountered on display dresses from the "Ghost Dance" it was very touching and sad. I have nothing but respect Wovoka.

I dont mean to sound rude, but the term "Native American" bothers me because I was born in this country and I am also a Native American. But I also am 1/12th American Indian ancestory not withstanding. Anyone born in the USA is a native American aren't they?

I also have Powhatan in me. I am one of the decendants of Pocohantas. And you're right- I am not immediate ancestory. Still, I am very proud of what I do have. The American Natives were brave people. I just dont feel that its right to hold onto bitterness about what "the white man did". We all make mistakes and no one is perfect. Even the Indians were not all nice- some tribes were viciously cruel to the European settlers. So its just human nature- we must learn to forgive.

Imberish, you're a racist. I'm also Native (Mi'kmaq) and I know that Native peoples suffered. However, don't presume that they were the only ones. If you knew more of history than just yourself, you would know, for example, that the Irish, Scotish and Welsh peoples suffered terribly at the hands of the Brittish in much the same way. They were robbed of their culture, language and land, persecuted, starved, and killed. They were white. Does that mean their suffering is less than yours?  No.
