And that she has criminal charges against her for assault (not battery) against Rand Paul. None of these facts make what happened against her lawful, but she is not a total innocent in this situation.

The first time I saw this vid I actually thought it was a guy in disguise after the wig came off. Didn't even realize it was a woman until all the news stories started posting it was a woman. Either way, the head stepping, not stomping, was unnecessary, but far from the brutal assault the media would have people believe. The difference here is that Republicans, Conservatives etc. at Democratic events have been treated a lot worse and more often.

The crowd tried to stop her but as with any riled up group of people, somebody takes it a bit too far. However, he immediately stopped and apologized to her later. Compare this to the near fatal beatings at the Obama rally a couple years ago which got virtually no attention.

I think people getting violent (in actions as well as words) at a political rally is extremely important and concerning. Democracy and violence are mutually exclusive. The whole point of democracy is to obtain and transfer power peacefully rather than through violence. Violence against a nonviolent protester is profoundly undemocratic.
