hi there my name is danny from london i have been using all the motif range and i agree the xs piano is not nice, now the yamaha motif 8 the first in the range is the best on the market, but the rest of the xs6 7 8 is cool, i have the motif 8 and the motif xs7 for live work, if you are not happy with the xs piano you can buy a motif rack and midi up the piano sound and play it on the xs8 this you can get on ebay for 250 pounds ( about) good luck,
hey norman whats the chord you play at exactly 0:19-0:20 all i can determine by ear is a D,A on bass and an Ab on right hand, but dont know the missing keys??
Hey, I got my used MOTIF XS6 on Friday Fri. June 26, 2009 however, I am not impressed with the Fll Concert Grand Piano and Grand PIano Sounds. I need to know if I have to tweek the sound for it to sound better, can you tell me what to do?
You can buy some type of mixer... And Put your XS6 straight true the mixer then through the speaker.. That way you should be able to tweak your Highs, Mids, and Lows.. Unless The XS 6 Has and boy mixer like the ROland Fantom NEwer Series
its all based on preferrence... korg dominated the 90's but now its the Motifs! and i dont think M3 even comes close to Motif XS. Korg Oasys might but for the price its not comparable.. maybe 2-3 years from now all boards will stop sample based technology to another one... and Oasys will be just another old model keyboard.... too bad technology changes so fast and Oasys is not a good investment IMHO at this day and age.
I've had the liberty to play on Yamaha motif xs8, Korg m3 88, and the fantom g8 as well as $100,000 Yamaha grand pianos. I must say that each of them sound great, but the Roland has the most features including 128 track audio/midi, phantom power, and 8.5 in screen. It is the only keyboard on the marketing that provides you with a real DAW experience. I suggest those who not sure about what to by to visit a music store to demo you favorite patches (pianos, strings, etc) before committing to any.
Beautiful chords man! That Loved that Motif XS. Oasys and M3 are nice too, but what's best is irrelevant to a individual. U have to love your sound rather it's the XS, O, or M3. Thanks for posting.
the motif xs piano sound is so poor

Video is a bit lo-res, but technique and musicianship (execution and composition) are very good.

Awesome sound you got there. Beautiful. Long I was going for the Tyros, but I think the Motif has just what I need.

Yeah, I've tried them both. ONe of my homeboys has the M3 and that store didn't have the Oasys on display.
