  • electric bikes are for grandma. rock that rascal nana!

  • why go electric when you can bring 2 smokes back!!!

  • Doesn't sound fun without the noise of bikes :(

  • great showing

  • This was meant as an exhibition and introduction of the electric bike, not a suggestion that the electric could or would replace the thrill of an MX race with traditional bikes. They don't expect to convert a whole bunch of IC folk yet, but there is a place for these. A simple "not for me" is sufficient. Don't be such a hater--nobody's gonna take away your IC bike...

  • jesus first 2 strokes gone, we will not loose 4 strokes

  • How much burning coal will it take to charge these..." environmentally friendly" bikes? The idea that they are better for the environment is as stupid as the electric car.

That said. A track full of 20 riders with skill could be a fun race to see. Especially cause you'd could crank music and actually hear it!

  • @MrDarinWarren Lol You fucking narrow minded moron. Solar and Wind power are perfectly capable of Charging these bikes just as well as Coal or Nuclear powered Factories. I am not in support of going all Electric in racing, But for street and even at home use it would be a great idea. Your whole comment just got fucking blown to smithereens

  • @14omega28ok "Your whole comment just got %^#$&@*&! blown to smithereens."

Um, no it didn't. You wanna add up all the energy it takes to get from the design stage to a working windmill producing power and getting it from the windmill to your electric bike? Go on. Add it all up. I'll be waiting. Don't forget anything. Add it ALLLLLL up.

  • @MrDarinWarren And since when do you create energy from nothing? With your logic you can CREATE Energy. But once you get a good working Farm, You then can continue making them with the energy that the already built ones are generating. didn't think that one out did you fucker. Stop using last ditch attempts

  • @14omega28ok Your logic like your pathetic life is...flawed. But keep dreaming loser.

  • @MrDarinWarren LOL flawed? really? What you're telling me is that you can CREATE Energy from nothing.. Now thats flawed. The amount of Pollution it would take to produce Wind mills and Solar panels would be minimum compared to what a few million cars put out. I'm not even a green freak and I'll admit that. Loser stop hating on other peoples opinion. Some are green freaks, While others like myself just like the idea of their finally being a alternative to the ICE

  • @14omega28ok "I'm not even a green freak" Suuuuuuure.

    Moving on. Buh bye now.

  • @MrDarinWarren If I was a green freak then explain to me why I have a 1974 Ford F350 one ton with a beefed up V8 engine with straight pipes as my daily driver? and remove the baffles on every motorbike I own? Yeah I'm the greenest motherfucker around... Suuuuureee Bye

  • HAH! what a joke! id never pay money to see things in a race. thats just boreing and extreamly lame.

  • I've seen BMX races that were faster.

  • I can't believe how stupid the gas lovers really are. They love noise, pollution, expensive maintenance and they absolutely hate change. Instinctively humans hate change. I love change. If these gas lovers had their way we would all still be shitting in out houses. The stupid fools can have their gas powered vehicles. It's a known fact a gas cannot compete with an electric motor.

  • @maryjane123rd Electric motors obviously run off batteries and the batteries, which in all forms contain harmful chemicals, are really expensive to produce, and in the process of production contribute more to pollution and environmental harm than a petrol bike would in its lifetime. remember that the electricity that u use to charge ur batteries comes from highly polluting power stations in most cases. so when u way up the pros and cons, the IC engine is still the better option! go learn stupid

  • The bikes did the lines, and there was great racing. Tree huggers cant get mad, and we can ride where we want when we want.

You are getting mad because you can't make noises? That makes it a pussy sport now because it sin't loud?

I hate to say it but maybe these people are right, maybe we are just stupid people.

  • i wouldnt dare

  • What the fuck are you talking about its better in the economy, its light, its powerful like a 250, and its tough as nails

  • tree hugger cross

  • might as well ride a fucking bicycle. it is boring as fuck to watch.

  • Where are the jumps?

  • all it is is a razor bike on steroids

  • The bikes are so fucking small. I don't care what gas prices go to. I would rather smell 2 stroke and 4 stroke bikes and hear them riding around in my backyard then to see someone riding along on one of these pieces of junk.

  • Looks slow as shit.

  • wat happened to the good o gas powered motocross

  • Thats like wht motocross is going to be in 50 years

  • this is sooo gay

  • as exciting as watching mime's boxing

  • @grampsoltimer I'd say this is even less exciting. I'd pay good money to see mimes get beat up.

  • those are MTBs right?? lol

  • Thats About as big of a track and jumps you can take on it. It cant make a big supercross triple or ride on a national track and keep up!. Its a cool idea but its too expensive for something that can only be ridden on a mini track.

  • Slow and too quiet...

  • Great technology But.....If this video is the future of motocross then i believe the sport will die.The sound and smell account for large portion of the thrill. If this is the future of riding then i wont wanna ride anymore!

  • I honestly dont think these could win against a BMX bike

  • thumbs up if you think this video makes motocross look like a pussy nerd sport.

  • boring sorry

  • theyl never reach the true power of a real dirtbike this is all bull shit plus i like the noise this is just boring

  • once the power and battery life increases i can see these catching on. but it will definately take a while.

  • would they race 50c class?

  • my dad does the graphics for them

  • they are barely clearing the jumps. these e bikes suck dick

  • i didnt notice the difference between vvvvvvvh and VVVVVVVVVH

  • Comment removed

  • It still wanna drive my chevy v-8 camaro

  • they already had a race between gas powered and electric bikes and the electric bikes smoked the gas powered. plus these bikes will become big because you could go ride in the middle of the night and no one would even no or care because they make no sound plus it will please the stupid ass tree hugers

  • @PetersonRacing137 yeah ok. theres no video to prove that they competed in a real AMA race. if ur so confident why dont you try to race on a real track against 20 other riders

  • need airplugs by screaming people!!!!!!!!!

  • Why don't they just use this motor on a larger scale for cars

  • I honestly don't think these will catch on. I don't know why everyone thinks this is some sort of "revolution" in the sport. It wont be a big hit with the old dogs or the new kids who race or used to race. And besides, when people are at a motocross event, they don't want to hear RC cars when the gate drops. Many people might think this is a cute idea, but i don't think AMA will get close to being serious about these things.

  • @Dirtjocky12 So are you still waiting for this whole "Internet" fad to pass as well? I love the smell of motorbike exhaust, and the noise. But man, this is some amazing technology that has nowhere to go but up...kudos to the team who obviously spent a lot of time and brain power to bring this to life, and even bring it to the average consumer. Also, less moving parts in the engine. Simplicity is a beautiful thing.

  • @Dirtjocky12 um, because todays electric motors are revolutionary? You are correct in that when new technology comes around, there are some more stubborn elements that shun it (almost automatically), but that's the same no matter what you're talking about. There are still people out there that believe carburetors are better than fuel injectors. Why? "Cuz that's the way my daddy used to do it".

  • @88beauzeau88 True very true. But apart from tradition and all that, there's a certain element of practicality involved with gas motors. Electric motors don't perform at a steady pace like gas engines do. Gas engines go and go at the same rate until they run out of fuel, but i would think an electric motor would would get slower and slower as the battery drains until it slows to a crawl and then quits.

  • @Dirtjocky12 I've wondered that myself. I would also think they'd lose their 'zip' after the first ten minutes or so. It's that way with everything else that's rechargeable. One thing the gas motors can't touch is the torque. Performance-wise, I'd have to give the edge to electrics. Also, the electrics are inherently safer (no gas to catch fire). But it's like everyone is saying, no one is gonna want to go watch a silent dirt bike race!

  • @88beauzeau88 Electric isnt safer. Batteries are a lot more dangerous than a gas fire. Its proven and thats why electric cars havent hit the market yet. its because they havent found a way to make the batteries safe enough.

  • @cdotx11 I guess you've never heard of the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, or Tesla Roadster then.

  • @JanusChristIsRisen tesla is useless for anything other that driving in the city, the leaf is the same way, and the chevy volt was supposed to get 235 mpg as promised a year and half a go.... it gets worse gas mileage than my toyota echo.

  • BRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAPPP BRAP BRAP BRAAAAAP BRAP BRAP!!! Gonna miss it. : (

Not gonna miss the clutch though, or gears.

  • @steveincairo are you serious? What makes riding a challenge then? What will devide a B from a C rider, or a B from an A rider

  • @msxcracer294 At the time, I was a new rider, and was still getting used to clutch and throttle control. Now it's not that big a deal and it's fun to quickly accelerate and do speedy shifts.

  • id want to buy it but im more of a honda person but ill try

  • Then ride a bicycle sounds more your speed.

  • YES! no more earplugs!!

  • i agree with scunk

  • I think they're pretty cool, but it seems like they're marketing to the wrong people. They need to make a more urban-appropriate model. I live in Japan and don't usually drive more than 20 miles in a day. What's the problem? Would a headlight and signals drain the batt.? Maybe market the dirtbike to people who need quiet off-road transportation... hunters? ranchers? hippies? cat-burgulars? I don't know.

  • they have onroad models

  • the Zero S is for street

  • Wow, I hope motocross never turns into this. It just looks like 2 guys riding around on mountain bikes...

  • i do. they are better, funner, and more effecient than ICE engines

  • They are definitely not better or more fun. These things are little more than mountain bikes with electric engines. All the videos off them "beating" gas powered bikes either have someone who looks like they've never been on a motorcycle before riding the gas bike or they're racing against kids bikes(Drz125 video). I could see these being good for trail riders, but they should never touch a track. The noises and smells are part of motocross and it would be very boring without them.

  • also the reviews of the zero by Dirtbike magazines(people who know dirtbikes) tell the real truth about the zero. Its a piece of junk that could never hope to win against a competant rider on a real bike.

  • there is plenty of room for improvement... let's just say that...

  • Electric engines will soon greatly pass the gas powered engine. It is the superior technology.

  • @mrmonkeyman I hope not, i like to see one of those hippie bikes and a kx 450 race then we wil see whats better

  • @mrmonkeyman Don't know about soon. They should be concentrating on making cars and commuter bikes with this technology first. It has along way togo before it's up to the petrol engine standards for competition.

  • @Rambl147 Soon means 10 - 20 years and done deal. It's just the way of the future.

  • @mrmonkeyman There is no doubt that they have already past gas powered motors.... 80 to 90% efficiency for electric motors where gas is less then 20%... whats holding electric back now is batterys... but in the next 3 years the new lipo batterys will be 10 times as dence... meaning 10 times the runtime out of the same size and weight battery... i cant wait to see what heppens then

  • @mrmonkeyman Something tells me you and the 10 people that like your comment have never been on a dirt bike, or been around somebody that rides and races every weekend. It may be the superior technology, but nobody that isn't a complete tree huger likes the idea.

  • @msxcracer294 I have and the fact is whatever is faster is what people will want which is electric.

  • dude thats BS they suck! they are SOOO FREAKIN SLOW!!!!! any 2 stroke 85cc would smoke this slow peice of crap and the sound is one of the good thing about mx cuz they SOUND FREAKIN AWESOME!!!

  • @mrmonkeyman It's actually a lot simpler, but simplicity is key.

  • @mrmonkeyman HELL NO

  • @mrmonkeyman , It may be superior technology, but not for a dirt bike, not for motocross/supercross. The people who ride and race dirt bikes decide what will be accepted, they make the market. Electric is great for lawn mowers(not even that actually) but never for MX.

  • The best part is these two bikes are perfectly matched in performance. The riders are going as FAST as they possible can and nobody can make a pass. haha

  • Electric bikes are coming and their acceleration performance is better than half the reason they'll replace the gasser on motocross courses. Torque curves are a thing of the past, man...

  • I know that electric motors turn a lot faster and produce a much faster acceleration in the engine, but is it going to be possible to get all of that to the ground without the rear wheel slipping like crazy?

  • It depends on the speed control, i.e. throttle, you are using. Most electric cars don't use gear boxes because of the rpms they can turn and torque too. : ) Too much power? No, not really. The right motor for the right job and you're good...

  • they weight 156 pounds... nothing more needs to be said

  • emig ate his weedies

  • i couldn't race those, i like the sound of my bike, it calms me. i would hate hearing the commentator saying how bad i am doing lol.

  • First time i ever saw dirt bikes racing and could hear everyone inside.

  • Nice man i want one

  • I'd take one of these over the one you're talking about. These are around 140 lbs in weight. I'd much rather have that than the 200+ lb. bike you posted. This is an electric moto bike. 23hp of instant torque. Love it!! No pissing off my neighbors anymore with the 2 stroke or 4 stroke. F gas!

  • the bike he's talking about makes 13hp and wieghs 290lbs.

  • I hate to agree but I have to... these things are simply fabulous. Look for the Quantya bike too, it's amazing. I definitely want an electric dirt bike.

  • @tommymxmi you not even a true rider if you dont like gas.. or pissing off your neighbors

  • @tyblackburn124 You are not a true rider, if your ride doesn't neigh

  • @tyblackburn124 haha I am with ya man!

  • god hippies!!!
