  • i dont have anything against Tc i was actually gonna get 1 but at the last minute i changed my mind for an Si plus the color they were going to give me was a light blue--maybe it just me but cmon ppl a good 85% of the drivers of Tc are female. no problem with that just not me and my little brother(17yo) just got a sexy yellow S2K

  • @frankd14321 Being FWD means nothing when I'm winning. What does a 10sec fwd car have in common with a 10sec AWD or RWD car? You get one answer...lol. And it wasn't just a stock Evo. It was an Evo 9 MR. I've raced against and beaten cars that were faster than a normal stock Evo.

  • A Civic isn't 6 grand more than a Scion, when you option out a Scion it gets expensive like an Si and still sin't that sporty. The Si has a sport suspension and and LSD and more power

    I traded in the LX for a 2008 Scion TC 5 /speed

    The TC is by far the best car I have owned...It has very good acceleration and decent handling...

    I had a hard time passing or racing in my civics....The Tc helps me keep up and at times pass some of the other expensive cars who think they are the shit on the highway

  • the s2000 is a car thats in a totally different league, compared to the scion. Both cars engineered for different purposes. overall the S2k is car built specifically for the the race track. Scion built for gas saving boredom.

  • Hmm, I'm pretty sure Honda is sponsored with racing? There's Spoon Sports Civic Type R, there's NSX's for touring racing, and there's Honda's F1s, but that's Japan sponsors, and I don't pay attention to American racing cause most of it isn't great, at all.

  • Scion has its pro sponsored cars too with Jackson Dawson, World racing, Decendant motorsports, Dezod, Marshal Pruit, and a few others plus 2 of the formula D drift tcs are running modified trd nascar motors but those are all american companies and most are scion only shops. but what i meant was toyota will provide tracks and events for scion owners with modified scions to hit the track after a rules and reg class. The last 2 i went to were in ATL at road ATL and ATL motor speedway.

  • I own a 2001 S2000(Turboed) and a 2009 TC (Stock). They are both good cars and both good looking.. The TC is the drive around car that we bought late last year. And for a Scion the TC does have some kick... However I wish it has more head room..

  • It really depends on the s2000 on how much horse power it has.. 240 ap1 stock and 237 ap2. Also weighs 2809 pounds and the tc supercharge normally is about 200 hp (161 sock) weighing at 2932. The TC does have more torgue tho however front will drive so isnt to much fun for tricks. There is no doubt in my mind that the s2000 would be in the lead.

  • yes, they have derived units. but my point is that that hp doesnt say much about a car.. it is said that torque wins you races, and hp makes sales. in other words, torque = acceleration, hp = top speed.

  • Dude completely not true, think about it a stock tc vs a stock s2000....160torque both...roughly.....the s2000 still does a mid 14 sec 1/4 mile while the tc struggles for mid to lower 15's....

  • @hatejapanesecars A lot of people don't seem to understand that the S2000 is a full purpose Track-Car. Btw, The S2000 has plenty of potential, from Gears, to Forced induction. I have a Boosted S2000 myself, and I don't think I'll be losing to a Boosted TC anytime soon. Drag, or no Drag. In my opinion, the S2000 is overall the better car.

  • After reading all these comments it is obvious that a stock s2k is going to destroy a stock tc. a s2k starts at around 34k and a tc around 18k. with that price difference i would hope that the s2k would be faster.but if u slap on a 5k turbocharger on the tc u have a little of a faster car for around 10k less. but dont get me wrong i am a fan of s2k's but i am just stating a fact.

  • Actually the stock s2000 has what, like 240whp off the bat? The scion has about 160whp. The supercharger, when istalled by the dealer, should warrant a total of about 198whp. If he has a racing header, s-pipe, and efficient exhaust, plus a cold air intake, he would be looking at about 215whp (if done correctly). Add a 9.5PSI pulley to that and I'd say they are right around the same whp. But the tc with s/c has higher boost in the mid to high rpm range. It's possible.

  • Too bad an s2000 that comes standard with an i-vtec engine(which at that point is obviously faster than a stock Tc) is worth well over 15k more than a Tc and when a Tc slaps on a 5k turbocharger with atleast 10psi pushing it over 280-300whp it then smashes on an s2000 annnnd that Tc owner is still waaay under what the s2000 owner has payed..

    and NO, i dont hate Honda.. i just hate when you "honda 4 life" kids swear up and down the block that vtec is the best..

  • These 2 cars are in completely different levels. stock for stock, S2K wins, and even worse, see an s2k on the track. my friend owns a TC and admits handling sucks. also with no torque, the s2k makes up for its light weight which is why it gets 0-60 in under 6 sec. no replacement for displacement 2.0 L vs 2.4 L.

    Meth or water injection just decreases detonation and allows for more boost, which will increase spool but only becasue your wastegate isn't opening as early.

  • for the tc it's not "just a 3k kit" you're looking more at 7-10k for a quality turbo and clutch, brakes, lsd, tuning, management etc etc

    you can find a solid used s2k for around 16-20 and i'd rather take that. in fact i just got rid of my tc and it looks like s2k is next on the plate :) and yes the guy above you makes a good point that the fwd tc is useless on the track. much love to the old tc but the s2k looked like he let off in the video

  • In our family, I've got an S2000 and my brother's have tC's. I like both cars respectively, but I have to agree with the fact that (without knowing what the S2K/tC had) the S2000 should not have lost. I've beaten a supercharged tC no problem when all I had was intake and headers.
