Before stephanie myer ... nobody used to cringe about vampires, but now when i tell people the novel i am writing a novel about vampires, they DO cringe and ask if it's like twilight. And it isn't like that at all. Stephanie myer tarred vampire novels with a bad brush!
I don't mind Twilight but I got really annoyed when she wrote 'He was talking to me as if I was mentally handicapped.' (I used to get support from the special needs room and my twin still does). I found that line she wrote really offensive and am appalled that people seem to think that it's OK to use terms such as 'mentally handicapped' and 'mentally disabled' and 'special needs' as a another term for stupid everywhere (EINSTEIN HAD ASPERGUS PPL!). I'm amazed that they didn't edit that out.

@ssuz1 Same thing with me. They forced us to read in school when I was younger, so by the time I was in middle school I hated books. Since Twilight, pretty much all I do is read, and I can't wait to start cranking out my own books :)

when the extent of people's knowledge of vampire lore is Buffy the vampire slayer, and THAT is how they got into Twilight, there is something wrong. But at least Joss Whedon knows how to write about vampires.
My only beef with Myers is that a) her writing is bad, b) her books have destructive messages for young women c) a whole generation of teens now think that Twilight is good writing and measure future reading against it.
I have plenty of friends who like Twilight but they are also critical enough readers to recognize the weakness of the writing.
people need to stop hating on Stephenie. Twilight Saga is a phenomenon & people all over of the world love this just as I do. We're all going to differ on many things that's just human nature but it is wonderful to see how our minds can create such amazing ideas, and even in dreams... especially with Stephenie's.

I don't really think anyone "deserves not to be successful" (unless, perhaps, their rise to success somehow involved them doing unethical things). Being a bad writer or having poor business acumen might make you *unlikely* to be successful, but if you are successful anyway, I say good on you. Like I said, I'd take the millions of dollars. ;)

I can't say it's really a love story, more teenage lust fest! A real love story is one when they go through REAL hardships and survive to make a life for themselves, I prefer Jacob as a character to bella or Edward, edward's a little creepy. Jacob is the only character she gave some authentic human traits to.

Firstly, she wrote it for herself, as she always makes clear, so she probably didnt expect a bunch of kids to enjoy it so much, but they did, which proves that teenagers these days are actually a lot more sexually orientated than you thought. I can't say it's really a love story, more teenage lust fest! A real love story is one when they go through REAL hardships and survive to make a life for themselves, I prefer Jacob as a character to bella or Edward, edward's a little creepy. Jacob is the only character she gave some authentic human traits to.

Here i KNOW the answer to your problem Stephanie was working up to it and she did state in the book. (Jacob) "Because you're the one who told me this. Do you remember? You said we belonged in each others lives, Right? That we were family. You said that was how you and I were supposed to be. So...now we are." Jacob wasn't in love with her but with the idea of her and fate led him to her for renesmee. If you need more proof i have more!

Firstly, she wrote it for herself, as she always makes clear, so she probably didnt expect a bunch of kids to enjoy it so much, but they did, which proves that teenagers these days are actually a lot more sexually orientated than you thought. She didn't break her own rules by creating Renesmee (demonspawn is quite a pathetic thing to call her, to be honest) and seeing as you hate twilight so much, just dont bother with is and stop picking out faults in it because some people actually love it.

Well, of course theyr in lust, theyr both extremely inlove! They have this unbelievable connection and this electric current and all they want to do is be able to be with each other like a normal couple and share something special between them, edward and bella both say they dont believe it sex without love, if edward or bella just wanted sex, then they would have, but it was edwards love for bella, that always made him control the monster, yes i know im rambling. They are IN LOVE!

Jacob, I don't like so much, but in Breaking Dawn I love him because of all the jokes he says to Rosalie. I love Emmett he's SO funny i mean "Did you fall over again?" and how he makes fun of Bella's sex life and the EDWARD loses control.
Though I would of LOVED to have another book because it didn't end right there's another mystry Bella can't just use her powers and leave it there i want to know what edward finds out when he kisses her!!!!!!
