  • Man, Neil is all over the metronomic map here too. WTF? Or is this the same show as the other video where I noticed the same thing?

  • @tapkae Hear where ur comin from, but don't be that deceived. One thing missing from this particular song is the bottom end on the synth. There's no base line to reference.

  • No dislikes!!!!

  • why does jan wenner hate rush what a d bag

  • why was this a deleted scene...ITS SO AWESOME!!!!

  • What's red sector a about

  • @SkittlzNinja Nazi prison camps, the story of a kid, I presume, trying to help his family survive until they were rescued. Both Alex and Geddy's parents spent time in prison camps.

  • @SkittlzNinja About the feel of a concentration camp. Geddy Lee's parents were in one(and survived)during World War II.

  • when you see Neil's drumset from above, with all the parts and different percussion instruments, you know without even seeing him play that he is great, cause no one else could handle that kind of drum set, they would be lost!!!!

  • Why was it deleted originally?

  • This is that 1 or 2am song that you jam while going way over the speed limit!! I remember cranking this from the "Chronicles" Double Disc and just loving the song my Senior year in HS!!

  • ooah, autotuned... nonono... I'll put in my 'Grace Under Pressure' video: better (fatter) synths, natural voice, overall more natural feel to it.

  • The "Rush In Rio" version of "Red Sector A" (which I love) has a heavier sounding guitar. This sounds pretty good too though.

  • Better than the album version!

  • Amazingggg!!!!!

  • MOGAD!

  • This video contains something I've never seen from Rush. They actually lose their timing. Check out how the song speeds up during Alex's solo. All of a sudden Neil starts playing a bit faster.

  • @OSUalum41i realy don't see that

  • @OSUalum41 They never lost timing. You misheard or the new notes threw you off. I have perfect timing and I can't hear it.

  • @OSUalum41 quit smoking meth ,neil peart off beat i dont think so

  • Is it just me, or Ged's pitch is ridiculous? He's usually quite good, but that us spot on! Definitely a better vocal that the original.

  • @jamacare I noticed to!

  • greatest band great musicians

  • There's some autotuning here...

  • @Spermwhales93 geddy doesn't need autotune.

  • @Spermwhales93 Huge Rush fan here, and I heard some autotune too. On that last "Stand up straight" you can really here it. I bet it was added in when they mided the DVD. There's no way they autotune live.

  • @ryslo2000 I've seen several live videos of Rush (both DVD/TV quality videos and bootlegs) and I've heard no evidence of autotune on a lot of them. They probably added it to the vocals when they mixed and mastered the DVD before release. If anything, it was unnecessary because Geddy stays in tune most of the time.

  • 3 excessively talented musicians having to perform in a wash of years that have produced the most pretentious losers that claim the same title of these musical geniuses. i guess its hard to appreciate music that pleases the ear (maybe people are just jealous) and lyrics that adress substantial ideas. more rush for the rest of us.

  • Who cares if people don't like rush? That just means they would rather listen to bands made up of un-talented adults singing about sex and drugs, hoping to sale albums to high school kids. Rush never had to pretend they were cool and bad ass. Real music fans know that.

  • The live version is better then the studio version. :)

  • i miss the simmons drum sounds on this song :'(

  • the children who leave comments that are likely to offend genuine RUSH fans simply dont appreciate good musicians talent and good music.

They were probably the ones who think Joey Jordison is a good drummer. He is a drummer, he just makes a noise, anyone can do that.

if they dont like the music why are they here watching it ?

  • What a night it was! I stood up 1st balcony above alex... got the chills during "dreamline" and completly freaked out when they played only old stuff during the last half hour....there where countless "magic moments" during the concert, well, glad too see that R30 is out on blue-ray and complete!!!!

  • Now this is real music

  • Comment removed

  • Rush is an amazing and super solid trio live. People are just hating because they are ignorant asses.

  • JUST ENJOY THE MUSIC YOU FUCKERS

  • I hate when people say "they're old put it on Slipknot or Disturbed so we can find shit so heavy that we don't even know whats playing"RUSH IS LIKE THE SOFT PART IN THE MIDDLE OF BROWNIES

  • How the fuck are these amazing artist and geniuses not in the rar hof

  • @cjf799 Because that institution is a joke.

  • Rush should be in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame"

Moving Picture's Kicks Ass...........I Love Tom Sawyer !!!!

  • I love this song

  • This is a badass, and they played it with just as much passion and grit as the early 80's...and these guys are in their mid 50s

  • Its a wonderful song, they are great !!!!!

  • Geddy, may I have a Snickers?

  • love the 80s rush...glad to see its coming back in their concerts! Can't wait to see them this summer... Great song!

  • WOW...this is awesome!! Thanks for posting.

Even though this is not on the R30 DVD I'm going to purchase it and crank it up. My favorite song is Subdivisions.

  • Great band, great music!!!!!

  • FYI this song is on the Blu-ray R30 - don't know why there and not the regular version but at least it is available. Great performance!

  • Your right xyz. Most of that tour he play's more with paul reed smith and fender strat.

In my opinion that song doesn't sound good with a Gibson les paul like he do

sometime. In fact that solo is very nice. The sound is very raw.

    Frank, Montreal

  • I looked up "teamwork" in the dictionary and there was a picture of RUSH. There is no better example of three parts coming together, meshing so effortlessly and for so long and still performing as great a level as their peak. I'm sure there has to be one of those motivator posters with Alex, Geddy, and Neil on it.

  • @Triplecenturies Best description of Rush's dynamic I've ever heard. It's just like one entity playing the music they're phenomenal

  • gosh i just love rush. geddy lee has an amazing voice..i noticed this version is a bit faster than normal. they prolly were getting so into it so they sped up..some of the best musicians in the industry by far!! go rush!!

  • Absolutely amazing...! Every single one of them and the three of them togheter are out of this world...! This planet doesn't deserve them...! F*ck the R&R HOF...!

  • I like the Grace Under Pressure tour version better, the Synths are so much more powerful. I do like Geddy's voice 20 years later though, it's very nice:)

  • Add a bassline Geddy. I've already done it. and it fits great with the song

  • Thanks for the clip - I hadn't seen it before.

With that said, this version doesn't stand up to the live version from the Grace Under Pressure tour. That version is the best live version out there - really strong and gritty.

This version's audio mix has the keyboards buried way too far behind the guitar...

  • I challenge anyone to give me one example of a guitar piece that sounds anything close to this? Simple answer, NONE.

  • Rush is fucking awesome, no one else can compare

  • Alex took approximately six notes and made it sound like about 30. The guitar movement in this song is nothing short of genius!

  • Kind of ironic, A tune about the holocaust being played in Germany. Obviously that was of another era and I'm certainly not suggesting anything negative about Germans.

  • Rock and Roll HOF is pathetic. Look at the crap they let in before Rush.

  • this version sounds better than the album version IMO. GReat band. why aren't they in the rock and roll HOF yet?

  • Because Jann Wenner from Rolling Stone mag is the founder of the HOF and he hates Rush.

  • fuck him

  • Jann Wenner is also a fuckhead too. Grandmaster Flash and Madonna are more worth of the HOF than Rush? Okay, whatever Jann. Fuck the HOF anyway if they can't recognize true genius like Rush when it's heard.

  • No problem, RUSH is in a fine class by themselves! Not being inducted makes for an even GREATER status.

  • @leconnaway Supoosedly, someone from Rolling Stone gave Rush a very bad review on a tour or album and Neil wrote them a piece of "The Riot Act".Thus, the ongoing grudge against them. The HOF says it's because Rush is a "progressive" rock band and they don't have a category for progressive bands. I find that utter bullshit. are they supposed to sound the same way they did back in 1975? In order to progress you have to:A. stick around for 30+ years B. develop your craft to razor sharpness.

  • @mrthundaboots You're right . Absolute bullshit. They found a category to induct ABBA after all.

  • @mrthundaboots Hilarious. Ask any artist, and they'll tell you most rock critics rarely stay for more than 1/2 the show, thus their reviews are slanted and pretty much worthless. As for the HOF and "progressive rock" bands, the operative word there is ROCK. That means that Pink Floyd, Genesis etc will never make it in. Floyd who sold over 20 Million of 1 album alone; Genesis who were the soundtrack for the 80's. Absolutely makes no sense to pick ABBA or skanky Madonna over them...

  • @leconnaway Lol rolling stone blows anyway.

  • @leconnaway Because Rush is too cool for him.

  • because one of the judges is the rolling stones editor, who has some a thing against rush.

  • Haunting, vivid, epic

  • y was it deleted

  • Geddy Lee > Chuck Norris

  • lamo!

  • actually geddy co-writes all of the music and has written some music himself but not this one

  • one of my favourite songs

  • I actually think its about his parents, not just some guy... They were in a concentration camp. But I'm not 100%

  • Geddy doesn't write the songs.

  • It was based on Geddy's parents in a concentration camp, but Neil obscured the lyrics somewhat so it wasn't about anything too specific.

  • It's awesome that they made this song about a guy in a nazi concentration camp.

  • when you embed this video it doesn't allow. HQ. what gives???

  • Where did you get the deleted scenes? i bought the R30 Special edition, and i didnt see this

  • I think this one is on the S&A Tour dvd

    I don't know why

  • They did not do RSA on the S&A tour ... too bad, so sad ...

    Long Live RUSH !!!

  • It was an extra they added, as it was cut from the R30 DVD.

  • Is it just me, or are they all over the place tempo-wise? Could care less, its the boys at work!!

Almost feel like they caught one that was off and gave it up to us hardcores.

  • Thats's not possible b/c they're locked into the electronic tempo of the sequenced bass line.

  • I wouldn't say it isn't possible... as much as I don't believe it either, someone tells me they are human.

  • now they just need to release Bravado,YYZ,The Trees,One Little Victory, La Villa Strangiato, and By Tor and the Snowdog and we will be all set, seeing that Secret Touch was just released on retrospect III.

  • Anyone know where one may find an audio only mp3 recording of this? I need it on my iPod. This song has never sounded better.

  • if u download from piratebay its on there

  • Rush concerts are really different, and AWESOME!!!

  • The beat is slightly faster than the usual and the drums can be heard as clear as hell. Awesome

  • This is also on the "Snakes and Arrows" DVD.

  • Thanks for put this video! It is a great petty that this video doesn't appear in the dvd. Honestly I like Red sector A than Mystic rythms. It's a point of view.

  • the Grace Under Pressure album is one of the best album on the world.!!! a big fan.

  • how do you get usb sticks from tours?!

  • why the fuk is this not on the dvd its awsome

  • Nice rarity -- thanks!

  • my favorite rush song. i pray to god that they play this on their next tour.

  • this will be on a bonus disc on the upcoming dvd snakes and arrows live due out nov 18th 2008

  • can't wait to get it on blu-ray!

  • dude watching rush in Blue-Ray would be freaking awesome.

  • It is awesome my friend. I just hope they go back and re-master all the old films up to HD. IT CAN BE DONE!!

  • Now, that would be awesome. watching rush in HD. Seeing Neil Peart's drum set in HD man it would look so nice.

  • I would so love to have Exit Stage Left remastered in HD.

  • Yeah that would be awesome. How about "A Show of Hands" that was a kick ass concert to. that would look SOOOO nice in HD.

  • Is that one the one that has Force Ten?

  • ummmm. I think so, i'm not exactly sure.

  • the snakes and arrows dvd is being released on blue ray

  • actually, watching rush in 3D would be frickin awesome! geddy, alex and neil would be all up in your face. that'd be cool!

  • Where did you find this?

  • he bought a USB drive from the current tour. (Snakes and Arrows) it comes preoaded with everyone. (as it says in the description)

  • ...seriously better than ANY pink floyd...somehow.

  • This and the other 7 songs were cut for a couple of reasons:

    Quality issues/space on DVD

trying not to make it too similar to Rush in Rio

some mistakes in certain songs (I heard)

  • Oh, Well then don't ever go see Pink Floyd. You just might stroke out. lol jk. But I thought it was pretty awesome. I liked it.

  • Why are people always hating on Rush?

I try not to let them bother me. If you don't like the band, then why would you just come to the video to talk about how crappy it is?

Personally, I thought this concert was the best ever because they weren't promoting any album. Just trying to provide the best Rush rocking experience possible. And they pulled it off!

  • exactly fuck all the haters!

  • @vogel2112 true that man! I go around and watch videos from bands I love, and there is always some ignorant ass hole who bashes the band or song. why watch it and take the time to comment on it if you hate it so much?

  • @vogel2112 Why do people hate on Rush? Well, they can't understand them be it that they are superficial. It is evident to me that this generation has mostly produced obtuse fools, and it's quite disturbing.

  • @vogel2112 that's what i felt with the time machine tour. it was mystical. i wish they played this song. it was one of my first favorite rush songs

  • I LOVE THIS! Hopefully we'll see the other deleted songs available soon, and I really am looking forward to the S&A Live DVD which will be released this year! Songs deleted from the R30 DVD and CD are as follows: Bravado, YYZ, The Trees, One Little Victory, Secret Touch, Red Sector A, La Villa Strangiato, By-Tor & The Snow Dog

  • Why did they take those songs off? Those are some of my favorite songs and they go and do that. Well, there still my favorite band. I'm just a little dissapointed.

  • really good video! i dont understand why they removed this from the dvd. anyway thanks for the video!

  • They deleted it because it was on the Rush in Rio DVD, and they thought the R30 DVD would be too similar to that if they put all the songs on it.

  • Classic that this is on youtube already.

  • lmao yea!

  • Nice!

where you take that? they also cut the song La villa strangiato because of a big mistake by Alex but i listened a bootleg from that show of "La villa" and the mistake sound great...
