  • I had one and it was way better then Game Boy.

  • Yeah but it was STILL a GREAT competitor for the GAMEBOY

  • It doesn't play the cards or the games that needed the SMS Light Phaser.

  • what happened to the tv tuner review

  • No, it does not add the entire SEGA MASTER library. This doesn't allow you to play game cards.

  • I got a master gear converter 2 it's pouch shaped and screws on to the game gear itself.

  • My converter was like that too. This guy has some kind of horrible black market one.

  • it works well though.

  • It hardly works well. The resolution of the screen is horrible enough as it is, when you use the master gear converter, the resolution is even worse than Game Gear games. Often, I can't even read the text of the games.

You'd be better off playing master system games on a GP32X or something.

  • The game gear is known for having bad resolution so this is no surprise.

  • Low resolution is the nature of all the old portables. Lynx, Game Gear, Gameboy. You play them all nowadays, you have to put ClearEyes in your sockets to see anything.

  • but the gamegear's graphics are a bit blurry.

  • Nice little review thingie but his opinion on the Game Gear is total BS, as the Sega Game Gear totally kicked ass.

  • what game are you playing?

  • It's Ninja Gaiden for the sega master system.

  • thanks

  • I don't understand, how come when I look at the item on other websites the product looks entirely different from the Master Gear Converter on here?

  • yeah the one in the review is from nubytech. A few companies made them, the most common is the one made by sega though. No difference in functionality.

  • So it is entirely cosmetic?

With this one you insert the cartridge into the slot above the extension port going into the Master Gear converter, while the Sega brand Master Gear Converter fit behind the Game Gear only sticking upward with the front part of the cartridge sticking out facing the Game Gear while the Game Gear cartridge expansion fits into the Game Gear's cartridge point.

I think that's how it works.

Thank you, I am most sorry about the comment I left before.

    It was quite rude,

  • They had a thing called the PowerBase Converter for the Genesis which let you play MS games on your Genesis, I also think it's cool that Nintendo is putting up MS games on the Wii VC, I never had one growing up, so I'm playing them for the first time.

  • Awesome stuff as always.

  • I wish they had a converter to play Gamegear games on the Master System. Id love to play some of my old gg games on my tv.

  • I dig the music at the end, good video guys!

  • I had one, my one u had to twist the clip in, that was spring loaded just to secure it, it was a chunky thing

  • How did you get the name "Ito?"

  • High School name from my sophomore year back in 95

  • woah!

wonder how much it shortens the already-short-battery lifespan though... >_>

  • man i love my gamegear im glad mine still works.

  • mine is unfortunantley broken I don't know why but it just won't start anymore everytime i turn it on the light comes on for 1 second and then fades away.

  • i love going to my orthidontist because in the lobby she has 2 game gears and a lot of games. i am pretty lucky for the opportunity to use one because i was not born in the age of game boy and game gear.

  • Excellent again! Keep up the good work!

  • good job
