Srebrenica was NOT demilitarysized, and the military of muslim Naser Olbic did massacre hundreds of Serbs around the Srebrenica region. Therefore Mladic needed to come into the enclave. But it was a trap for a staged massacre taht did not happen. Civilians after the occupation of Srebrenica where free to stay or to leave for muslim occupied territory with busses provided by UN and Serbs. But many military did not surrender, but prefered to escape trough 45 km Serbian area.
