  • nice video mate. We use to own a farm on the Liverpool plains 6 years ago. That place grows some nice sorghum .Was a really nice farm and regret we sold it. Can you tell me whos property this may be.

    Cheers

  • wow thats a lot! i guess you do dryfarming, or do you irrigate? during the growing season our sorghum can get about 10 inches rainfall. all i can say is that you ausis do a great job and you can handle bad conditions very well! cheers

  • nice sorghum man, ausis are doing better sorghum than americans do... im from germany and planted some sorghum too this year, but harvested it for silage. how many tons do you get from grain sorghum? maybe we can get it for grain next year too... greetings from thuringia state

  • It depends where u are and the crop averages vary alot due to how it is planted and growing conditions, This particular crop was a result of excellent growing conditions and is in one of the best growing areas in the world. This crop averaged between 10 - 12 tonnes per hectare, and at times the harvest monitor showed 14 tonnes per hectare, the destination of this sorghum made its way to feedlots and chicken farms.

  • Thanks for that gunder, hoping to get back home to Aust this year and get a job driving the grain trucks, over in kiwi land at moment but no rush hee hee. Thanks again.

    Cheers Wayne
