Always a fan from show #1 to the final episode and still a fan. The most disturbing and most enlightening television show of all time. I refer it to anyone who will take the time to watch it all. You MUST watch it all to understand its power and scope. Television shows today pale by comparison.
Thanks very much, as I've said below, I really enjoyed creating this. Would love to re-edit it with footage from the DVDs some day. However... I've just had to try and resolve a copyright dispute here on YouTube... it seems "they" think the music at the end is copyrighted and that the whole video should be pulled. Absolutely pathetic.
Hang in there, Jay--copyright issues should be put on the backburner by YouTube. If it weren't for people like yourself, no one would even know what Twin Peaks was all about. Come on, YouTube, grow some cojones. You evolved despite the copyright issue, and you just need to stand firm against the lawyer threats. Your site should be allowed to continue unimpeded by copyright issues. No site like it, and the benefits are incredible.
I watched Twin Peaks and was fascinated with it because it was so realistic beyond anything that was ever done on tv. From Shelly getting a beating to the macabre topic of incest to spirituality that borders on the extreme it was so mystifying and entertaining beyond what was out there at the time. From the excellent visuals to the suspense it was all so mesmerizing. It is to me not surprising that after all these years TP still has a fan following. It was way before it's time!!!
Excellent video thanks for posting it, what a brilliant series, it had everything and more and darker, than any series then or now!! Unique and spellbinding, watching this took me straight back 5*
No problems with audio . thou a little crappy transfer with video but i have seen worse thanx for this, i am a huge TP fan. Thanx again brings me back =)
No probs, was a pleasure to make it! Sadly, I put this together 11 years ago using a Beta Tape editing suite, and all my footage came from VHS tapes!
I have, however, been toying with the idea of re-editing it with the new footage from the DVD releases and reposting it at some point. Maybe one day, when I have nothing else to do!
Hi Markfly, thanks for your positive comment! Not sure what you mean about the audio, plays fine here. If you mean there is a slight audio lag now and again, that's the downfall of compressing stuff for YouTube I'm afraid!
I meant that the overall speed of the video is too fast, as I noticed that the key of the Twin Peaks theme is higher and the speed of everything is quicker than it should be - it probably happened when you transferred it. But like I said, this is still really awesome and thanks very much for posting it. :)
Very true, although this programme is mainly aimed at people who have seen the show and to give a retrospective view of its success and impact on the world of cult TV. Unfortunately, to those who have not seen the show there are many spoilers in this programme and for that I must apologise. But considering this show was aired in 1990, I would hope anyone interested in it would have already watched it by now!
narrator sounds bored.
