Today my blue heeler caught a fox. He didn't try to kill it necessarily, but played with it. Meanwhile the fox trying to survive, had serious intent to harm my dog and was successful. This is against a large breed with dingo in it mind you. The fox is a very formidable and cunning killer, however cute or dog like and has no place in Australia. To viewers outside of Australia, there has not been a case of rabies in this country to my knowledge, thankfully.

Awesome video! I had a similar experience with a coyote in Joshua Tree National Forest in California. It walked right up to me. I reached my hand out and it went to sniff my hand and a companion shooed it away. Probably a good thing. LOL! FYI... rabies is a neurological disease and animals that have it react very erratically and generally hide. The only bite and such when they are disturbed. NOT walking around in the open playing with bits of straw.

Fox's are nocturnal and extremely wary/cautious by nature but they seem to lose this instinct when rabid or they become very aggressive. This type of behavior is a very reliable indicator of rabies in foxes. Next time do yourself a favor and try some research b4 embarrassing yourself. 99% chance of rabies is enough
