I found out about this browsing around the shaving supplies at Walmart. I was skeptical but tried it anyway. This has made life so much easier. Before, if I got cut shaving, I'd put some tissue on the cut and wait a while for it to clot. Then I'd have to clean off the excess dried blood with a damp tissue. Often it would leave a visible dried scab.
Now I can just apply this styptic pencil, wipe off the excess, and then go about my business. The best part is that the cuts are almost invisible.
No disrespect, mind you. I enjoy your videos and respect your opinions. However, I have seen these before (as another poster said, at Walmart) and have avoided them for the reason I stated below.
There have been links though to Aluminum sulfate (the same ingredient in anti perspirant deodorant) and breast cancer. It has been claimed that it enters the body from the deodorant through the tiny nicks of shaving (for women, in the armpits) to collect and create a cancerous tumor. While I have no information here to cite for you, I would suggest looking into it if you are really serious about applying a styptic pencil (56% aluminum sulfate) directly to your bloodstream.
@Mithras234 No offense but that's the same sad urban legend that's been going on for over fifteen years now. There is no credible evidence of it and spreading it only feeds hysteria and self-blame for people who develop breast cancer.
They work well, I use them when I cut myself shaving my body, you can feal them working. I sometime cut my moles and they bleed for ages, I'm glad I finally found something that works to stop them bleading all over the place.
There is an idea that you could use the clotting agent in snale venom in emrgancy calls, when the paramadics arive they could soray the purified substance, that clotts blood into wounds and stop large amounts of bleading FAST.
I just baught one today, and it works, I did not cut my self on purpose, but it did the job. It's fantastic. I never heard of anyone who ever hade to shave before 13, surley a 12 year old would not need one, would they? I have moles on my face, and they bleed for hours if I cut myself, this styptic pencil is just the thing I need.
I jus got one of these cus I saw it and I remembered ur vid,I jus used it...jesus eff'in!!! U did not say this thing was gonna sting like a motherf**ker!! Lol
that pencil would be a good addition to a hikers back pack, I know I have been snagged by briars and limbs afew times myself.I do wonder about the aluminum in it though, I realize that its the same stuff as most deorderants, but I wounder if chap stick or bees wax would do the same, in protecting a cut? or would it more likely melt away easier? thanks for video ..good info.. and I would X out some of these idiots comment, its amazing how many narrow twisted minds sit and dewell in stupidness

hey, i was in turkey over the summer, and they're very into their male grooming, especially shaving. I had a turkish shave, and afterwards i bought a grooming kit (cut throat, shaving brush, soap bar, classic razor) but the interesting thing, i dont know if anyone have seem this before, but they included a variant of the styptic pencil. it was like a ilittle book of matches, but the head was actually the styptic wax, works the same way, and very handy :)
shaving your balls is a modern age man thing, some women appreciate it. It's the metrosexual fad that is going on which causes men to be as finicky as women, you know the guys who shave/wax EVERY part of their bodies lol.
i love how awesome you are its just your all around awesome i am 11 but your just so so awesome lol so awesome i love your videos keep them up please please
LoL, I remember my dad gave me one of these when I first started shaving, old tech but it works great, I think I'll get one again after seeing this, thank you :)
If its really bad, and you have health conditions [eg heart, I mean drs prescribe aspirin like candy], and your able to, you can use the silver nitrate applicators to cauterize the bleeding spots. Sometimes used in bloody noses, and for people with various stages of diabetes.
My step dad got a cut in his nose and used a styptic to stop the bleeding, the funny thing was though, is that it made him look like a cocaine addict from all the white powder under one of his nostrils...
The old ones used to be silver nitrate, and they worked great for mouth ulcers as well. My dad used to mention them, they'd burn like hell for a second, but the mouth sore would heal up right away with no pain afterwards. Of course, they got banned, as per usual.
weird, i bought 1 of these at walmart about 2 weeks ago, same brand, same package, but mine did'nt come with the plastic tube. hmmm...it kinda sucks now.
Hey, not being nit picky (otherwise could have pointed out many misuse of words and idioms in the past) but wanted to point out for people who may speak english as second language etc, "doesn't sting which i can 'contest' to" means you dispute/not agree with. What you should have said was 'attest'
Sorry I've notice youtube/americans seem to misuse words so much, probably b/c of their education system etc. Not being offensive, only trying to make it easier for international viewers like myself
@LiFetommi not because of education you uppity european, its because it sounds better than attest to, and yes, you are being nit picky, thats what you do.
My grandfather introduced me to these when I first started shaving. I have one at home for shaving and I actually carry one in the 1st aid kit that rides everywhere with me. Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride also works similarly, it was designed as a nasal decongestant, but it constricts blood flow which can be used (ocassionally, because there is such a thing as too much of a good thing) for minor-medium first aid.
I used to use one of those when I was trying to shave every day with a cut throat razor. Now I use an old single blade safety razor and life is sweet! And my total outlay on shaving equipment and soap is about $6 a year, if that.
These also work great for canker sores. (Open sores in the mouth) It stings like hell, and it tastes really bitter, but it heals the sore, sometimes overnight.
I've got a styptic pencil, i use it quite frequently because i shave with a double edge safety razor. "sting free" actually means "stings a lot". They do work quite well though.
i own a ton of these but i dont use them for shaving since i use an electric razor i use mine for cuts i get while working on cars and thing like that
