  • Practice does not increase your IQ. It makes you better able to work with previously encountered specific parameters. Change the test and hey presto, your IQ has mysteriously retrograded back to roughly where it started from :)

You could I suppose essentially cheat and keep practicing IQ tests until by exposure you were able to score a little better. You have gotten no smarter though and presented with a novel problem you will be back to being your not mensasmart self again.

    Pointless.

  • @TheCelticChimp Well of course with that attitude and lack of knowledge of the brain anyone would get dull. :/

  • @Mensasmart

Feel free to claim that I must simply be lacking in knowledge to disagree with you.

An intelligent person wouldn't have characterised my objection as an "attitude" or assumed I knew nothing of the topic on the basis of disagreement. Maybe you need to practice IQ puzzles a little more before you understand that, but I won't hold my breath ;P

You come off like a salesman, are you selling something?

  • @TheCelticChimp Yes, and pink elephants orbit the earth.

  • @Mensasmart

    okaaay...

  • Don't click the link. I'm a Christian and even I consider this a poorly done excuse to push fundamentalist propaganda.

The author of the test obviously has an obsession with the worst possible thing being a cashless society... ignoring the Armageddon it leads up to.

  • Google "Sunesis Society" High I.Q. society for Christians! Top 99.3rd percentile of the population-Smarter than Mensa! Come Join the Cause! Intelligence for Jesus!

  • Got it, Next? l fuckin ol

  • There is less fact in being able to not increase anything by doing something, than to increase something by doing anything. And please do understand the difference between IQ and intelligence.

  • tell me what is difference between IQ and intelligence? my definition for intelligence is how much information you can keep in mind simultaneously in order to see what the most logical thing in a situation is. iq-tests measure this. they only measure it on the "abstract" level as the body has its own inbuilt intelligence that they cannot measure. intelligence, as opposed to "dumbness" means remembering premises. a stupid person "forgets" those and therefor makes mistakes the smart person avoids

  • Very well put my friend. Using Logic and reason is the key to winning an argument. Your statement is very true, intelligent people tend to be smarter because they can remember better, whereas boobs tend to forget things and thus cannot support any premises they have made. Inevitably, it will lead to contradiction etc.

  • @pepperpupper

Odd definition of intelligence. Forgetfulness = stupidity?

I think I would define intelligence as the ability to understand concepts.

For instance, the dumbest drooling moron on earth can be taught to remember "E=MC2".

Intelligence is required to understand what it actually means. I don't mean knowing what each term stands for. I mean actually understanding the conceptual framework it describes.

Memory is a component of intelligence but hardly its defining characterist

  • learning how a few matrices works will not increase IQ. to get any measurable effect would probably require hours of this type of thinking every day. I think problem solving in for example computer games would have a much more realistic chance to actually increase mean IQ as noone would spend enough time trying solve puzzles like this to get any effect

  • You can learn some IQ test puzzles how do they work but it is really the REAL IQ ?

  • I followed the links, went to the site. I'm not smart.. but I'm glad you are :)

  • I wanted to know more about that girl.. not to see a green 11 sec that doesn't mean anything.

  • It actually means quite a lot. It's a Mensa IQ test getting revealed to help people understand more and raise their IQ's.

    Just follow the links.

  • thanks for those puzzles. their alot of fun.
